Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This hybrid position requires you to be physically present in Arizona.

What if your role was to keep students motivated, engaged, and eager to participate—without curriculum design, assessments, or academic instruction?

This position is designed for individuals who connect naturally with young people and excel in dynamic environments. At Unbound Academy, a tuition-free virtual charter school, students advance rapidly through coursework using AI-powered tools, then engage in live, facilitated workshops centered on practical skills, teamwork, and personal growth. Your responsibility is to ensure these experiences run seamlessly and resonate meaningfully with participants.

You'll serve as the operational backbone of the student experience. You'll coordinate transitions, facilitate small-group interactions, maintain energy levels, and provide support when learners need guidance or reassurance. You won't deliver academic instruction—but your presence is essential to making the model work.

If you've worked with youth in camp settings, extracurricular programs, athletics, tutoring environments, or community organizations—and you're drawn to a hybrid model that combines virtual facilitation with in-person teamwork—this is an opportunity to make school feel purposeful and connected again.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating live virtual workshop sessions by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, monitoring pacing, and ensuring smooth group dynamics
  • Promoting active participation through chat engagement, verbal encouragement, personalized outreach, and direct student interaction
  • Supporting students in remaining focused, confident, and socially connected throughout their daily schedule
  • Collaborating with lead facilitators to handle operational logistics that enable session success
  • Serving as a reliable, supportive presence within student clubs and life-skills programming

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject-specific content
  • Developing lesson plans, evaluating assignments, or conducting academic assessments
  • Building curriculum materials or facilitating workshops without support
  • Operating in a passive or observational capacity—this role demands active involvement and high energy

Key responsibilities

Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by maintaining student engagement, organizational flow, and sustained energy across all workshop activities.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to start immediately or at the end of July (one of the two).
  • At least 1 years of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth
  • Educational background within U.S., Canadian, or U.K. school systems (K–16); must have attended school in one of these countries
  • Energizing, student-first presence with strong attention to detail
  • Willing to work in a hybrid role in Arizona.
