Guide K-3   $100,000 plus benefits Salaried position with W2 benefits

Description

Most schools ask, "What should a six-year-old know?" We ask, "What is this six-year-old capable of?"

At gt.school, gifted students don't wait for the curriculum to catch up. They move as fast as they're ready to learn, mastering years of academics through AI-powered instruction while spending the rest of their day developing the confidence, communication, resilience, and leadership to match their intellectual potential. Your role isn't delivering lessons. It's helping exceptional young minds build the habits and character that let exceptional ability flourish.

You'll lead one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your day is spent leading energetic workshops on life skills like public speaking, focus, feedback, and leadership. The other half is spent coaching students one-on-one and in small groups, using learning analytics to keep every child progressing toward ambitious weekly goals. Many of these children would not yet be identified as gifted in a traditional school. They simply need an environment that refuses to put a ceiling on what they can achieve.

Families don't choose gt.school because their children need extra help. They choose it because their children need a bigger challenge. They want adults who embody curiosity, discipline, and a love of learning. That's why every coach at gt.school has a personal history of exceptional academic achievement. Your accomplishments aren't just part of your résumé—they're proof that you've experienced the satisfaction of pursuing excellence and can inspire children to do the same.

This is a full-time, on-site role at gt.school's Georgetown, Texas campus, just outside Austin. We recruit nationally, so job boards may display this opportunity in nearby cities that do not have a campus. Relocation assistance is available for exceptional candidates.

If the idea of helping gifted five- to nine-year-olds achieve years of academic growth while developing the confidence and character to match their potential excites you, we'd love to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Lead engaging life-skills workshops that help gifted K-3 students develop communication, focus, leadership, resilience, and other durable skills through active participation rather than lectures.
  • Coach students one-on-one and in small groups, using Coachbot analytics, proven motivation systems, and strong relationships to keep every student progressing toward ambitious weekly learning goals.
  • Assess life-skill mastery through gt.school's Test2Pass framework, coaching students until they demonstrate genuine understanding and consistent application.
  • Adapt your coaching style to the developmental needs of your cohort, combining creativity and playfulness with exceptionally high expectations for what young learners can accomplish.
  • Build relationships that challenge gifted students to embrace difficult work, persist through setbacks, and develop the character to match their intellectual ability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic lessons from the front of the room. Students learn core academic subjects through adaptive, AI-powered software.
  • Holding gifted students back because of traditional grade-level expectations.
  • Writing curriculum from scratch. You'll personalize proven playbooks rather than create lessons from a blank page.
  • Supervising students as they work independently. Your value comes from coaching, motivating, and developing each child.
  • Lowering standards when students encounter difficult challenges. You'll help students rise to ambitious goals rather than reducing the bar.

Key responsibilities

Develop gifted K-3 students who pair exceptional academic growth with the confidence, character, and life skills to achieve at the highest levels.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a personal record of exceptional academic achievement.
  • A history of outstanding academic performance, demonstrated through accomplishments such as admission to a highly selective university, exceptional grades, prestigious academic awards, advanced coursework, competitive scholarships, academic competitions, or comparable achievements.
  • At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
  • A specific example of leading a structured activity for young children, including the routine you used and how you kept the group engaged.
  • A specific example of motivating a young child to achieve a challenging goal, including the goal, your approach, and the outcome.
  • A specific example of changing your approach after receiving feedback, including what you changed and the result.
  • Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing your own energy on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
  • The ability to balance warmth with unwavering expectations for every student.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Georgetown, Texas.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with gifted, accelerated, or highly advanced learners.
  • Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement enrichment programs.
  • Outstanding storytelling or presentation skills that naturally engage young children.
  • A track record of helping exceptionally capable children stretch beyond what they believed they could accomplish.
