Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Most traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a non-traditional high school where students don't passively attend lectures or memorize information. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real-world capabilities that many adults never develop. Your responsibility is to ensure they follow through and deliver quality results.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theoretical instruction. You are here to coach practical execution. You will establish rigorous expectations, maintain accountability, and challenge students to produce work that meets real-world standards.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside traditional academic settings—launched a product, built an audience, operated within a startup, or delivered results in a high-velocity environment—and are ready to leverage that experience to develop the next generation. If you're seeking a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how driven teenagers think, act, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you've achieved something tangible in your career and want to dedicate your time to pushing motivated teenagers toward their full potential, this is the place. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Design practical workshops that teach students how to build genuine social media followings
  • Mentor students on content strategy, covering everything from ideation through optimization leveraging AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their personal areas of expertise into marketable brands
  • Provide 1:1 and small group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistent execution, and produce concrete outputs
  • Maintain accountability for students against rigorous standards in communication, work quality, and follow-through
  • Shepherd students through practical projects (businesses, marketing campaigns, coding initiatives, etc.) while demanding measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take corrective action when performance declines
  • Maintain transparent communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action plans

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Evaluating piles of homework or emphasizing theoretical knowledge
  • Coddling disengaged students or compromising standards to preserve comfort
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic school system

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvements in students' confidence, communication, and practical capability by coaching them to execute consistently at an elevated standard.
