Consultant   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site: Brownsville, TX (relocation support provided)
  • $100,000 annually
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week

Your experience has been in coaching students — not simply instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means forming connections, issuing challenges, and holding students accountable to their potential. Instruction means delivering information. You've never functioned as an information delivery mechanism.

Alpha operates the most unconventional educational model you're likely to encounter. Students don't remain seated in traditional classroom rows absorbing lectures — they progress through AI-driven learning applications at individualized speeds. Your role doesn't involve explaining mathematical concepts like fractions. Instead, you facilitate life skills workshops that command the attention of K-8 learners, conduct motivation sessions that drive students toward their weekly learning targets, and maintain high standards when students attempt to disengage. The academic progression is automated. You manage the interpersonal dimension.

This position offers meaningful advancement potential. Educators who consistently achieve performance benchmarks (100% cohort completion of weekly app objectives, satisfaction ratings above 90%) advance to Lead positions where they mentor fellow educators and influence campus culture.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If you're interested in working at one of the nation's most innovative locations doing work that transforms students' self-perception, submit your application.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not merely attended the session
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort attainment of weekly app progression targets
  • Utilizing narrative techniques, incentive structures (campus currency, competitive leaderboards), and individual rapport to overcome student reluctance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction metrics with a 90%+ benchmark on student feedback surveys

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting traditional lectures at a whiteboard. Academic advancement occurs through self-directed applications, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Providing passive supervision. Students working on computers describes the environment; active facilitation defines the position.
  • Compromising standards in response to student resistance. Test2Pass benchmarks remain consistent, independent of individual student circumstances.
  • Creating original curriculum materials — workshop frameworks and lesson structures are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student comprehension.
  • Handling parent communications, managing enrollment processes, or directing campus administration. Those functions belong to separate roles.

Key responsibilities

Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% completion of their weekly academic objectives while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain 90%+ satisfaction ratings.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) age students
  • Strong narrative delivery and facilitation skills — capable of maintaining student engagement throughout one-hour sessions
  • Able to work on-site at the Alpha campus location in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorization to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
  • Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional contexts)
  • Familiarity with self-paced or application-based learning environments
