Business Consultant   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site: Brownsville, TX (we provide relocation assistance)
  • $100,000 annually
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week

You've dedicated years to coaching young people — not merely instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means forging connections, issuing challenges, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's full potential. Instruction is about delivering material. You've never operated as a content distribution mechanism.

Alpha operates the most unconventional educational model you'll encounter. Students don't occupy desks listening to lectures — they progress through AI-driven learning applications at individualized speeds. Your role isn't explaining mathematical concepts. It's facilitating life skills workshops that capture the attention of K-8 learners, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward their weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when students attempt to underperform. The academic progression manages itself. You address the human dimension.

This position offers meaningful advancement potential. Educators who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort attainment of weekly app targets, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead positions where they mentor fellow educators and influence campus culture.

The campus is located in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If you're interested in working at one of America's most innovative locations doing work that transforms what students believe about their own capabilities, submit your application.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, maintaining focus, and exchanging constructive feedback
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not merely attended the session
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions using student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app advancement targets
  • Employing storytelling techniques, incentive systems (school currency, leaderboards), and individual rapport to overcome student reluctance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores to maintain a 90%+ benchmark on student surveys

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering traditional lectures at a whiteboard. Students progress academically through self-directed applications, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Providing passive supervision. The environment features students using computers; the role demands active engagement.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain constant, regardless of individual student circumstances.
  • Creating curriculum independently — workshop playbooks and lesson plans are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student comprehension.
  • Handling parent communications, conducting admissions processes, or supervising campus operations. Those functions belong to other roles.

Key responsibilities

Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% completion of their weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain satisfaction scores of 90% or higher.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
  • Strong storytelling and facilitation capabilities — capacity to maintain the engaged attention of children for one-hour sessions
  • Availability to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
  • Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or app-based learning environments
