You've built your career coaching young people — not simply instructing them. You understand that coaching means building connection, setting high expectations, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's full potential. Instruction is about content delivery. You've never been in the content delivery business.

Alpha operates an education model unlike any traditional school. Students don't occupy desks listening to lectures — they progress through AI-driven learning applications individually. Your responsibility isn't explaining mathematical concepts. It's facilitating life skills workshops that capture the attention of K-8 learners, conducting motivation sessions that drive students toward their weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when a student tries to settle. The academic progression is automated. You manage the human element.

This position offers meaningful advancement. Mentors who consistently achieve performance targets (100% cohort completion of weekly app goals, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance to Lead positions where they develop other educators and influence campus operations.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have genuinely acquired the skill, not merely attended
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% of your cohort achieves their weekly app progression goals
  • Utilizing storytelling, incentive systems (campus currency, leaderboards), and individual rapport to overcome student reluctance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a target of 90%+ on student surveys

What you will NOT be doing

  • Lecturing from the front of a classroom. Academic progress happens through self-directed applications, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Supervising without purpose. The environment involves children using computers; the role demands active engagement.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain firm, regardless of individual circumstances.
  • Creating curriculum independently — workshop frameworks and lesson plans are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the storytelling ability and presence that ensures genuine student absorption.
  • Handling parent communications, admissions processes, or facility management. Those functions belong to different positions.

Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% of their weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain 90%+ satisfaction scores.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
  • Strong storytelling and facilitation skills — capable of maintaining engagement with a room of children for an hour
  • Able to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorization to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience as a sports coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
  • Demonstrated history of strong performance in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or application-based learning models
