Long-term role

Youth Program Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • Location: On-site in Brownsville, TX (relocation support provided)
  • Compensation: $100,000 annually
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

You've built your career coaching young people — not instructing them in a classroom. You understand that coaching means building connection, issuing challenge, and refusing to accept mediocrity. Instruction means delivering information. You've never been satisfied with simply transmitting knowledge.

Alpha operates an educational model unlike anything you've encountered. There are no rows of desks and no traditional lectures — students progress through AI-driven learning platforms individually. Your responsibility isn't explaining math concepts. Instead, you facilitate life skills workshops that captivate K-8 audiences, lead motivation sessions that drive students toward their weekly learning targets, and maintain standards when a student attempts to underperform. Academic progress happens through the technology. You manage the relational and developmental component.

Performance in this position opens clear advancement pathways. Coordinators who consistently achieve benchmarks (100% cohort completion of weekly app targets, satisfaction ratings above 90%) advance to Lead positions where they mentor fellow educators and influence campus-wide culture.

The Brownsville campus sits adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If you're ready to work in one of the nation's most innovative regions while doing work that reshapes how children view their potential, submit your application.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify genuine skill acquisition rather than passive attendance
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% cohort achievement of weekly app progression targets
  • Employing narrative techniques, incentive systems (campus currency, competitive leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome student hesitation
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction metrics to maintain a 90%+ benchmark on student feedback surveys

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering traditional lectures at a whiteboard. Academic advancement occurs through self-directed applications, not direct instruction from you.
  • Providing passive supervision. The environment involves students working on computers; the role demands active engagement and facilitation.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain fixed, even during difficult weeks.
  • Creating original curriculum — workshop frameworks and lesson structures are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative ability that ensures genuine student absorption.
  • Handling parent communications, admissions processes, or facilities management. Those functions belong to separate positions.

Key responsibilities

Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% completion of weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain 90%+ satisfaction ratings.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) age students
  • Strong storytelling and group facilitation skills — capable of maintaining child engagement throughout one-hour sessions
  • Availability to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorization to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience as a sports coach, summer camp leader, or youth program coordinator
  • Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or career-related)
  • Familiarity with self-paced or technology-based learning environments
