Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires in-person work at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on what students should think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't absorb lectures or memorize information. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real-world capabilities most adults never develop. Your role is to ensure they actually execute, and execute at a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and build the confidence, communication, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to coach execution. You will establish a high standard, maintain accountability, and drive students to produce work that holds up in professional contexts.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academia—whether building a product, cultivating an audience, working in a startup, or delivering results in a high-velocity environment—and are ready to apply that experience to developing the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this is not the right fit. If you want to influence how ambitious teenagers think, operate, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you have built something meaningful in your career and want to dedicate your time to pushing driven teenagers toward their full potential, this is the place. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Design practical workshops that teach students to build genuine social media followings
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, spanning ideation through optimization with AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their areas of personal expertise into marketable brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students define goals, maintain consistency, and produce real deliverables
  • Enforce high standards in communication quality, work output, and follow-through
  • Shepherd students through applied projects (entrepreneurship, marketing, software development, etc.) and drive concrete outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take corrective action when performance declines
  • Provide transparent communication to students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action items

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching traditional lectures or working from a fixed curriculum
  • Evaluating stacks of assignments or emphasizing theoretical understanding
  • Supporting disengaged students or compromising standards to preserve comfort
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational system

Key responsibilities

Produce measurable improvements in students' confidence, communication, and practical capability by coaching them to execute consistently at a high standard.
