When a child struggles, most elementary schools reduce expectations. You do the opposite. You hold the conviction that a six-year-old can achieve far more than a traditional classroom demands, and you have used data to demonstrate this belief repeatedly.
Alpha operates on a two-hour learning model. Adaptive software handles academic instruction in the morning, freeing your schedule for the work that genuinely transforms a child's trajectory: coaching, life skills development, motivation, and accountability. You directly own a cohort of K-3 students while simultaneously coaching the Guides (Alpha's term for the adults who mentor and inspire students) accountable for their day-to-day growth. You remain hands-on daily, not leading from a distant office.
Your typical day alternates between three core activities. You analyze performance data and Coachbot analytics to identify which students and Guides are falling behind. You conduct coaching sessions that equip people with concrete next steps rather than vague encouragement. And you command the attention of a room full of five- to nine-year-olds during workshops on topics like public speaking, focus, or giving and receiving feedback.
As you identify what succeeds, you document it. The playbooks you create set the standard for every other Guide to follow, expanding your influence from a single cohort to an entire grade level. Demonstrating your ability to scale this excellence is the pathway to larger leadership roles here.
If reducing expectations feels compassionate to you, this role is not a fit. If elevating them feels like respect, apply.
Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every K-3 student: they love school, learn twice as fast, and develop exceptional life skills and independence.
