Director of Parent Engagement   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Are you the type of leader who sees skeptics not as obstacles, but as future allies? If so, we want to meet you.

Join us at 2 Hour Learning, where we're pioneering a radical shift in education by replacing the traditional school day with a two-hour, AI-driven curriculum. This bold vision needs a charismatic communicator to rally parents behind our cause and turn initial doubts into powerful endorsements.

We need someone who exudes executive presence, whether in a high-stakes boardroom, on camera addressing the media, or during pivotal meetings with parents. You’re the go-to person when it’s time to turn challenges into opportunities, whether that’s dealing with a PR issue or demonstrating our value to skeptical stakeholders.

Your talent for converting critics into advocates will be crucial, as you know that resistance is just another word for opportunity. If you're ready to leverage your skills in commanding a room and crafting compelling narratives, join us in leading an educational revolution.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering persuasive presentations and engaging in discussions that turn skeptics into advocates
  • Developing and empowering a network of influential parent champions to promote our vision within their communities
  • Creating scalable systems that transform individual parent experiences into evidence and advocacy opportunities
  • Implementing sophisticated feedback systems to capture early parent sentiment and turn potential challenges into advocacy opportunities
  • Managing key media interactions and crafting compelling public narratives about our innovative educational approach
  • Identifying and leveraging strategic moments to highlight our revolutionary impact

What you will NOT be doing

  • Coordinating traditional parent-teacher associations or school committees
  • Organizing social events without strategic advocacy objectives
  • Compromising our educational model to appease influential parents
  • Merely reacting to concerns without proactively shaping the narrative

Key responsibilities

Your mission is to convert our parent community into our strongest advocacy force. You'll do this by establishing systematic approaches that scale parent champions across all campuses, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to educational excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to Austin, TX
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in converting influential stakeholders or skeptics into advocates, such as roles in Customer Advocacy, Communications, Development, Enterprise Sales, Community Relations, or Change Management
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage sophisticated audiences
  • Proven track record in high-stakes communications, including media appearances, board presentations, and crisis management
  • Experience in building and expanding advocacy communities from the ground up
  • Ability to enforce policies with influential stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships and adhering to organizational standards
  • Firm belief in the necessity of innovative methods to transform education

What you will learn

Bring your expertise in community building and stakeholder engagement to the forefront of educational innovation. You'll work on the cutting edge of AI-driven K-12 education, helping to redefine learning for parents and educators alike. This role offers the chance to craft the playbook for building parent advocacy in the era of AI, positioning you at the vanguard of a major educational transformation.

Work examples

Picture this: After a tough meeting with a CEO mother questioning our unique schedule, you not only address her concerns but also convert her into a fervent advocate. She now hosts gatherings where she persuades other parents of our model's benefits, sharing her daughter's success story.

When parents started a WhatsApp group to voice concerns about AI in education, you didn't just react—you led. You crafted an impactful presentation, rich with success stories and data, which was so compelling it became a widely shared advocacy tool.

You've established a network of parent advocates at every grade level, ensuring new families hear firsthand from current parents who passionately support our model. Your advocacy systems are so effective that parents now independently organize community information sessions.

Most crucially, when parents reach out with concerns, you don't just resolve them; you transform these moments into opportunities to deepen their belief in our model. Your strategic approach and executive presence mean you're not just maintaining relationships—you're building a movement of parents committed to our educational revolution.

Success means fostering communities where parents are our staunchest advocates, actively promoting our approach, driving growth, and partnering with us to advance education.
