Director of Parent Relations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Are you the rare individual who sees a room of demanding, high-expectation stakeholders and thinks, "Challenge accepted"?

We're seeking an exceptional relationship architect who can transform discerning parents into vocal advocates for educational innovation.

At 2 Hour Learning, we're boldly redefining education's future: replacing traditional 6-hour school days with 2 hours of AI-enhanced learning experiences. This revolutionary approach requires someone who can artfully navigate sophisticated resistance and convert it into enthusiastic support.

You possess that magnetic executive presence that commands attention whether you're leading boardroom discussions, facing media scrutiny, or guiding high-stakes parent forums. When critical moments arise—whether presenting to leadership, handling press inquiries, or defusing potential controversies—all eyes turn to you.

You excel at converting skeptics into believers because you recognize that resistance is simply an opportunity to demonstrate extraordinary value. Your commitment to unwavering standards builds trust and credibility. Above all, you understand how to cultivate and expand advocacy networks that transform individual successes into systemic momentum.

If your professional journey has been defined by your ability to influence rooms, craft compelling narratives, and convert doubters into champions—we invite you to help lead the educational revolution.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering powerful presentations that transform sophisticated skeptics into passionate supporters
  • Cultivating and mobilizing networks of influential parent champions who amplify our message
  • Engineering scalable frameworks that leverage individual parent successes into compelling advocacy opportunities
  • Implementing sophisticated feedback mechanisms that capture parent sentiment and preemptively address concerns
  • Spearheading critical media engagements and crafting public narratives around our innovative approach
  • Identifying and maximizing strategic opportunities to showcase our educational impact

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing conventional parent-teacher groups or school improvement initiatives
  • Coordinating social gatherings without clear advocacy objectives
  • Compromising our educational methodology to accommodate influential parents
  • Taking a reactive stance instead of proactively shaping conversations

Key responsibilities

Strategically transform our parent community into a powerful advocacy engine by developing systematic approaches that scale parent champions across our campuses while steadfastly maintaining our uncompromising commitment to educational excellence and innovation.

Candidate requirements

  • Austin, TX location required (relocation support available)
  • 7+ years transforming influential stakeholders into advocates (backgrounds may include Customer Advocacy Leadership, Communications Executive, Development Officer working with major donors, Enterprise Sales Leadership, Community Relations Director, or Change Management Consultant)
  • Remarkable executive presence with demonstrated ability to engage and influence sophisticated audiences
  • Proven track record in high-stakes communications (media engagement, board presentations, crisis navigation)
  • Verifiable success building and scaling advocacy communities from the ground up
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organizational standards while strengthening relationships with powerful stakeholders
  • Profound belief that educational transformation requires unwavering commitment to innovative methodologies

What you will learn

While your expertise in building influential communities and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics is essential, you'll be applying these skills at the cutting edge of educational transformation. You'll be pioneering how AI revolutionizes K-12 education, influencing how parents and educators reimagine the learning experience, and standing at the forefront of the most significant shift in educational delivery since classrooms were invented. For those energized by working at the intersection of breakthrough technology and educational excellence, this role offers the opportunity to create the definitive playbook for parent advocacy development in the AI-enhanced educational landscape.

Work examples

The transformative potential of this role is best illustrated through these success scenarios:

Imagine converting a skeptical CEO mother who questioned our unconventional schedule into one of our most vocal champions—so thoroughly that she now hosts dinner parties where she persuasively advocates for our approach, sharing tangible examples of her daughter's remarkable progress.

When concerned parents initiated a WhatsApp discussion about AI in education, you proactively developed a compelling presentation incorporating parent testimonials and research insights. Your authoritative delivery was so impactful that parents recorded and widely shared it, transforming potential criticism into powerful advocacy. That video now serves as a go-to resource for families considering our school.

Your strategic approach to parent engagement has established advocate networks across every grade level. New families touring our school don't just hear from staff—they engage with current parents who eloquently champion our educational model. Your advocacy systems are so effective that parents independently organize information sessions within their communities.

Most significantly, when discerning parents raise concerns (as invested stakeholders inevitably will), you systematically transform these interactions into opportunities that strengthen conviction in our approach. Your executive presence and strategic mindset mean you're not simply maintaining relationships—you're cultivating a movement of parents who are entrusting their children's futures to an educational revolution.

Success in this role means building communities where parents become our most powerful advocates because they've witnessed the transformative potential of our approach. They're not merely accepting our model—they're actively championing it throughout their networks, driving growth across our campuses, and partnering with us to advance educational innovation.
