Head of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions prioritize volume, this one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics with technology-enabled learning and maintain elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable evidence. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, independent work, and the development of practical skills. The model is proven. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your domain.

You will control the entire enrollment process for a campus, spanning initial inquiry to final onboarding. This is not a role where responsibilities are passed along. You determine how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with proper understanding. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not maximizing numbers. The objective is ensuring alignment.

We welcome applicants from premium service sectors outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or owner-operators who have directly overseen high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, multi-phase process with sound judgment, transparency, and reliable execution.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service where trust, discretion, and experience quality shape the brand, this role will be recognizable—just directed toward work that meaningfully improves outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont, Palm Beach, Charlotte, and Raleigh. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach to completed onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based discussions to evaluate compatibility prior to offering solutions or suggesting progression.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment phases, maintaining clear tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and decision-making discussions that transparently convey outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment databases current (HubSpot and SIS) to enable accurate forecasting, task prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who are poorly suited simply to reach enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing large teams or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Splitting accountability for the family experience across multiple departments.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires on-campus presence.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the standards and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership, or independently operated services).
  • Proven track record of managing a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact to onboarding completion.
  • Experience handling 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family engagements at varying stages, supported by an organized tracking methodology.
  • Ability to supply specific examples of consultative guidance, including instances where you advised against your own offering due to poor fit.
  • Professional writing experience corresponding with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or discerning clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Palm Beach, FL; Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in admissions for selective private schools or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support capacities.
  • History of developing or enhancing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely speed.
