The curriculum is already complete. The AI handles the teaching. Your role is to help a child believe in capabilities they didn't know they had.
Alpha students finish their academic work in only two hours per day through adaptive learning software. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their time to what truly transforms lives: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. You won't be standing at the front of a room delivering instruction. Instead, you'll be coaching students through obstacles, recognizing achievements, and demonstrating what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.
You'll oversee one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half of your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half is dedicated to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly objectives. Every moment counts. Students should exit your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously believed.

What you will be doing
- Facilitate engaging life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, focus, feedback, and other enduring skills through active involvement rather than traditional lectures.
- Provide coaching to students individually and in small groups, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation systems, and solid relationships to ensure every child stays on track for ambitious weekly learning objectives.
- Evaluate life-skill mastery using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, coaching students until they show genuine understanding—not merely participation.
- Tailor your coaching approach to fit the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, movement, and storytelling for younger children or greater independence and accountability for older learners.
- Develop the type of relationships where students feel confident enough to push beyond what they believed they could accomplish.
What you will NOT be doing
- Delivering academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete academics through adaptive software.
- Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
- Observing students work quietly on computers. Your role centers on active coaching, motivation, and meaningful connection.
- Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Success emerges from supporting students to meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.
- Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or handling routine parent communication.
Key responsibilities
Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, consistently reach ambitious learning goals, and acquire the life skills that equip them to flourish well beyond elementary school.
Candidate requirements
- Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. Current openings are available in La Jolla (San Diego); Orange County (Lake Forest); Los Angeles (South Bay, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu); San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont); Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton; Miami; Miami Beach; Palm Beach Gardens; Chicago; Boston; New York City; and Kirkland (Seattle area). Relocation assistance is available.
- Bachelor's degree in any subject.
- At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
- A track record of motivating young children to achieve challenging goals, with specific examples of your impact.
- Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing your own energy on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
- The ability to balance warmth with unwavering expectations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
- Personal experience achieving ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or your career.
- Outstanding storytelling or performance skills that naturally capture the attention of young children.
- Evidence of helping reluctant or shy children become confident, engaged participants.
