Alpha has demonstrated this is possible. Our K-2 learners complete core academic work in 2 hours daily through AI-driven adaptive platforms. Your role centers on coaching, not lecturing. You will facilitate dynamic life skills workshops, guide students toward their learning targets, and cultivate the mindset and routines essential for long-term success. This position represents the most critical function at the world's most innovative school: you directly deliver Alpha's 3 Promises to a small cohort of students and transform their educational trajectory.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-2 students, providing coaching and reinforcing reading concepts introduced by Reading Specialists
  • Inspiring students to progress through adaptive learning applications and meet their weekly academic targets
  • Guiding emotional regulation, resilience, and problem-solving skills through consistent structure combined with warmth
  • Monitoring student development and requirements, identifying challenges early, and modifying approaches in coordination with your team
  • Building a classroom environment that balances structure, playfulness, and individual connection

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering instruction in core academic subjects - our Apps handle that

Candidate requirements

  • Must be available for full-time, in-person work at our campus locations: Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Lake Forest (Orange County), CA
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline
  • 3+ years of direct experience with children ages 4–7 in educational settings, afterschool programs, coaching roles, or comparable environments
  • Strong storytelling ability and energetic presentation skills: capable of capturing and maintaining young children's attention in group settings
  • Capacity to maintain high expectations for both yourself and students, while motivating children to reach their objectives
  • Growth-oriented mindset and receptiveness to coaching
  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
