Do you believe every student should achieve grade-level reading proficiency (or better), yet find yourself frustrated by ineffective systems that limit their progress?

Alpha School is demonstrating that literacy transformation doesn't demand traditional 6-hour school schedules. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-adaptive platforms with specialized instruction to accelerate reading development. Your role: create and implement workshops that produce quantifiable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for primary grade learners.

This position emphasizes data-informed teaching, technology integration, and constructing a reading framework that scales to thousands of learners—not administrative lesson planning.

Dorado advantages: Beach access within minutes. Dynamic bilingual environment with proximity to San Juan's arts and culture, all while enjoying a close-knit community atmosphere.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics, comprehension, and fluency development
  • Creating individualized motivational experiences using gamified literacy achievement markers
  • Examining student performance metrics to optimize instruction and extract meaningful insights
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI literacy platforms based on real classroom outcomes
  • Building scalable, AI-integrated content that supports early elementary learners in reaching grade-level reading standards

What you will NOT be doing

  • Standing at the front delivering traditional lectures — learning happens through self-directed AI applications, not passive listening
  • Implementing pre-built curricula or scripted teaching guides — you architect your workshops independently
  • Instructing in other academic areas — your scope is reading workshops and motivational support, not mathematics or science content
  • Managing behavior or providing childcare — each session centers on specific learning goals with trackable results
  • Operating independently — you work closely with the engineers developing the AI systems your students interact with every day

Key responsibilities

Drive every K-2 student in your group to grade-level or above reading proficiency through AI-enhanced workshops that transform phonics instruction into engaging, quantifiable, and enjoyable learning experiences

  • 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary populations
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate reading proficiency, organize student groups, and craft differentiated instruction independent of pre-packaged curricula
