What you will be doing
- Conducting adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics, comprehension, and fluency development
- Creating individualized motivational sessions built around gamified literacy benchmarks
- Examining student performance data to adjust teaching approaches and generate practical insights
- Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI-powered literacy platforms using real classroom feedback
- Building scalable, AI-supported learning materials that help early elementary learners reach grade-level reading proficiency
What you will NOT be doing
- Standing at the front delivering lectures — learning happens through self-directed AI applications, not traditional instruction
- Implementing a turnkey curriculum or reading from scripts — you create original workshop content independently
- Teaching core academic content — your scope is reading workshops and motivational support, not mathematics or science instruction
- Managing behavior without purpose — each session is structured around explicit learning goals and trackable results
- Operating independently — you work closely with the engineers who develop the AI systems your students engage with every day
Key responsibilities
Guarantee that every K-2 student in your group achieves at or above grade-level reading through AI-enhanced workshops that transform phonics instruction into something engaging, trackable, and enjoyable
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (essential for student and family communication)
- 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary learners
- Capable of evaluating reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated lessons without relying on packaged curricula
- Comfortable using AI and adaptive learning technologies and interpreting student engagement data
- Authorized to work in Puerto Rico without requiring sponsorship
- Ready to work on-site in Dorado, Puerto Rico
