Family Engagement Coordinator   $75,000 USD/year

Description

NOTE: This is a hybrid role requiring in-person presence in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, or NYC.

Alpha School is transforming the future of education. By combining AI-driven learning with mastery-based progression and outstanding guides, Alpha enables students to explore profound interests while delivering exceptional academic results.

In this position, you will guide each family's experience from initial inquiry through enrollment, ensuring that every touchpoint embodies Alpha's precision, care, and academic excellence. You will manage day-to-day correspondence, organize impactful admissions events, and ensure applicant data remains accurate to support sound decision-making.

If you excel in mission-focused, high-velocity settings—where attention to detail, responsiveness, and operational excellence directly influence family experience and enrollment success—this hybrid role provides both flexibility through remote work and meaningful in-person involvement at admissions events.

What you will be doing

Manage and respond to the admissions inbox, delivering prompt, considerate, and polished communication with prospective families (both virtually and face-to-face)

Handle and monitor digital admissions documentation with rigorous accuracy

Attend all admissions events, including information sessions, shadow days, and community gatherings, both in-person and online

Work directly with Lead Guides to arrange student shadow day schedules

Maintain precise and current admissions records, systems, and follow-up processes

What you will NOT be doing

  • Create admissions strategy or render final admissions decisions
  • Fulfill a purely administrative role without direct family engagement
  • Work within a slow-moving, heavily bureaucratic structure
  • Concentrate solely on building relationships without robust execution and follow-through

Key responsibilities

This role ensures that a frictionless, high-conversion admissions process fuels robust enrollment and family satisfaction across all Alpha campuses.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience in education, teaching, admissions, enrollment management, or a comparable field
  • 2+ years of client-facing experience in admissions, enrollment, events, or similar roles
  • Proven administrative and organizational capabilities; you are dependable and meticulous
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain precise applicant records or CRM data
  • Comfortable managing remote work alongside in-person campus duties
  • Able to adapt swiftly and succeed in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting
  • Authorized to work in the US and able to work on-site in either San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; or NYC, NY
