Director of Family Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

This enrollment role is not designed for volume—it exists to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the most forward-reaching school models globally. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely advance faster than national norms, supported by measurable evidence. Afternoons shift focus toward depth, autonomy, and applied skill development. The model delivers results—but only when matched with appropriate families.

This is your responsibility.

You will oversee the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a role that hands off accountability. You determine how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are grounded in sound reasoning. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when warranted. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is alignment.

We welcome candidates from elite service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership entities, or entrepreneurs who have directly stewarded high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, phased process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where credibility, confidentiality, and experiential quality shape the brand, this role will resonate—applied now to work that genuinely influences outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the enrollment process for prospective families, spanning initial contact to onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to assess compatibility prior to offering solutions or advancing to subsequent phases.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varied enrollment stages, maintaining transparent tracking of progress and follow-up actions.
  • Delivering campus tours, student shadow visits, and decision-stage discussions that articulate outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profiles with clarity.
  • Ensuring precision in CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and sustained service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment merely to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing large teams or navigating multi-tiered approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family journey across several team members.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires campus presence by intention.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a trust-centered, selective enrollment process that secures the right families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service caliber directly shapes brand standing (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium memberships, or independently operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a full client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycle from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family interactions across multiple stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Capacity to share specific instances of consultative decision-making, including occasions where you advised against your product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these markets: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest relations, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or enhancing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to elevate conversion quality, not merely velocity.
