Director of Family Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to maximize volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the most forward-thinking school models in existence. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely learn at rates exceeding national benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and the development of real-world competencies. The model is effective. But its effectiveness depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and extending through onboarding. This is not a role that involves handoffs. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how accurately they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with the right understanding. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate thoughtful discussions, and advise against enrollment when that is the appropriate course of action. The objective is not to maximize enrollment numbers. The objective is to ensure alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership organizations, or owner-operators who have directly managed high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with sound judgment, clarity, and consistent follow-through.

If your career has centered on delivering white-glove service where trust, discretion, and quality of experience define brand identity, this role will be recognizable—just directed toward something that meaningfully changes outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, in-person position. We are hiring in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont, Palm Beach, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Houston. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to evaluate fit before offering solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships at various stages of enrollment, maintaining clear tracking of status and follow-up actions.
  • Conducting campus tours, shadow day experiences, and decision-oriented conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the families best suited to the model.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment systems (HubSpot and SIS) current and accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or high-pressure sales methods.
  • Admitting families who are poorly aligned in order to meet a quota.
  • Overseeing a large team or working through multi-layered approval structures.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family experience across multiple roles.
  • Working remotely. This position is campus-based by intention.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-trust, high-selectivity enrollment process that attracts and converts well-aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and performance of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, personalized service in settings where the quality of service directly shapes brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships concurrently at various stages, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization system.
  • Capacity to offer specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your own product or service due to misalignment.
  • Professional written communication background with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or discerning clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following markets: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Palm Beach, FL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC, or Houston, TX.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency using data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
