Head of Enrollment Operations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to drive numbers. This position is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the most forward-thinking school models globally. Our locations integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and educators. Students routinely achieve learning velocity that exceeds national norms, and the evidence supports this claim. Afternoon hours are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and practical competency development. The model is effective. But its effectiveness depends on enrolling the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will control the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and extending through onboarding. This is not a coordination role. You determine how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with proper reasoning. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not enrollment maximization. The objective is mutual alignment.

We welcome applicants from high-end service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive admissions programs, upscale hospitality, senior-level administrative support, exclusive membership-based organizations, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly overseen high-stakes client relationships from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a meticulous, phased process with discernment, transparency, and accountability.

If your professional history centers on providing exceptional service where credibility, confidentiality, and experience excellence shape the brand identity, this position will resonate—only here it contributes to genuine outcome transformation.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are currently recruiting in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete enrollment pathway for prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate alignment before proposing options or advising on subsequent actions.
  • Coordinating 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment phases, maintaining transparent tracking of status and scheduled touchpoints.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow programs, and enrollment decision dialogues that articulate results, standards, and ideal candidate profile with clarity.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment database management (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting accuracy, priority setting, and experience consistency.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing transactional enrollment strategies or applying aggressive conversion pressure.
  • Admitting families whose values or expectations are misaligned solely to achieve enrollment targets.
  • Supervising extensive teams or navigating complex hierarchical approval structures.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family relationship across multiple staff members.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires campus presence by design.

Key responsibilities

Own and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that successfully converts aligned families while safeguarding the credibility and academic effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial engagement through onboarding completion.
  • Experience concurrently stewarding 20+ client, guest, or family accounts at varying stages, supported by an organized tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Capacity to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following regions: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment management.
  • Experience in upscale hospitality, VIP client services, or executive administrative positions.
  • Track record developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely velocity.
