Admissions Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

As an Admissions Specialist, you will serve as the primary contact for families evaluating where to begin their child's educational path. The messages you craft, the events you facilitate, and the discussions you conduct will directly influence whether a family selects Alpha. This position is built for individuals who prioritize accuracy, timely engagement, and authentic interpersonal connection, recognizing that trust emerges from deliberate and thoughtful action.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most forward-thinking school frameworks. Our locations integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Admissions represents the point where this vision takes tangible form. Families seek more than basic details. They seek clarity, assurance, and proof that Alpha delivers distinction in substantive ways.

In this capacity, you will oversee the complete journey for prospective families beginning with their initial contact. You will deliver timely and considered responses, coordinate campus visits and shadow opportunities, ensure applicant information remains precise, and help parents understand how Alpha functions and whether it matches their objectives. This is a prominent, relationship-focused position where your work directly affects enrollment outcomes.

This is an on-site, high-tempo role based in San Francisco for someone capable of balancing multiple demands with precision and attentiveness. If you value transparent communication, consistent execution, and supporting families in making informed decisions, this role provides considerable autonomy and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Addressing inquiries from prospective families within 24 hours through clear, professional, and Alpha-consistent messaging
  • Organizing and delivering admissions events, campus tours, and student shadow experiences from planning through follow-up engagement
  • Ensuring applicant records remain accurate and comprehensive across CRM and admissions systems
  • Conducting conversations with families to clarify Alpha's approach, respond to concerns, and document key details
  • Partnering with campus and admissions teams to maintain a streamlined and effective admissions process

What you will NOT be doing

  • Rendering final admissions decisions or shaping enrollment policy
  • Delivering instruction or managing academic curriculum
  • Applying aggressive sales methods or templated messaging
  • Functioning in an unstructured or slow-paced setting

Key responsibilities

Create a seamless, high-conversion admissions journey that converts early interest into committed enrollment, while ensuring families feel well-informed, valued, and enthusiastic about becoming part of Alpha.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience
  • At least 1 year of professional written communication experience with families or customers
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a CRM, student information system, or comparable database with demonstrated attention to data accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, CA
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Background in education, enrollment management, or school operations
  • Experience supporting admissions events or high-touch onboarding processes
  • Comfort working in fast-changing, tech-enabled environments
