Startup Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site in Austin, TX (relocation assistance available)
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly. Health benefits from day one.

The most impactful way to support a teenager launching a business is to refuse to accept mediocrity. You understand that high standards aren't burdensome—they signal your belief in what the student can achieve. If this resonates with you, continue reading.

Your students are high school founders building legitimate companies with $1M upside. These aren't classroom exercises or hypothetical simulations. You'll dedicate 60-65% of your time to 1:1 coaching: pinpointing where each founder is blocked, surfacing the highest-impact next step, and ensuring accountability to a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% is divided between academic monitoring and facilitating workshops that equip students with practical skills, not just theory.

This isn't a conventional teaching role. You are accountable for student outcomes across three dimensions: venture momentum, academic performance, and personal development. You'll rely on dashboards, business metrics, and academic indicators to coach with data-driven clarity, not gut feeling. When a student's grades begin to slide, you step in before it escalates. When a venture loses momentum, you surface the underlying issue, not the surface-level symptom.

You begin by understanding each student's business, their core strengths, and their typical sticking points. Within months, you become the voice they trust when they need a push—because you've operated in the real world yourself. The payoff is seeing a 16-year-old arrive with a rough idea and leave with a working company, the discipline to sustain it, and academic results that preserve every future option.

If you've been seeking a position where your operational background directly influences the next wave of entrepreneurs, apply now. If you prefer a scripted syllabus, predictable structure, or environments where effort alone is celebrated, this isn't the right fit.

What you will be doing

  • Providing 1:1 coaching to student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your time
  • Analyzing student dashboards, venture updates, and academic records to assess progress and clarify next steps
  • Tracking academic performance and proactively addressing issues related to focus or time allocation
  • Designing and running workshops with tangible, applied-learning outcomes
  • Facilitating stand-ups, debriefs, and group sessions that reinforce student accountability to their commitments

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching traditional lectures or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you enable hands-on learning, not classroom-style instruction)
  • Offering generic mentorship or motivational speeches without tied action plans
  • Handling student administration—scheduling, documentation, or enrollment processes
  • Attending faculty meetings or navigating institutional bureaucracy (your focus remains on student progress)

Propel student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while ensuring they maintain strong academic standing.
