Venture Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Based on-site in Austin, TX (relocation assistance available)
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly. Health benefits begin day one.

The greatest support you can offer a teenage founder is to refuse mediocrity. You understand that high expectations are not stress—they are a signal of belief in the student's capability. If this resonates, continue reading.

Your students are high school founders building real businesses with $1M potential. These are not academic exercises. Not mock ventures. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be dedicated to 1:1 coaching: identifying where each founder is blocked, isolating the highest-impact action, and enforcing accountability to a defined plan. The remaining 35-40% is divided between academic monitoring and facilitating workshops that deliver practical skills, not passive learning.

This is not a traditional teaching role. You are accountable for student outcomes: venture traction, academic performance, and personal development simultaneously. You will leverage dashboards, venture updates, and academic metrics to coach with data, not instinct. A student's grades decline? You address it before it escalates. A venture plateaus? You surface the root issue, not the surface symptom.

You begin by understanding each student's business, their capabilities, and their sticking points. Within months, you become the voice they trust when pushed—because you have operated at a high level yourself. The outcome is witnessing a 16-year-old enter with an idea and exit with a viable business, the discipline to sustain it, and academic results that preserve optionality.

If you have been seeking a position where your operational expertise directly influences emerging founders, apply now. If you require a scripted curriculum, a stable classroom environment, or a setting where effort alone is rewarded, this is not the role.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting 1:1 coaching sessions with student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your working hours
  • Analyzing student dashboards, venture updates, and academic records to assess progress and set actionable priorities
  • Tracking academic outcomes and stepping in proactively when attention or organizational skills deteriorate
  • Designing and running workshops with concrete, skills-based outcomes
  • Facilitating stand-ups, debriefs, and group sessions that reinforce accountability to individual commitments

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching lectures or adhering to a standardized syllabus (you enable applied learning, not traditional instruction)
  • Offering broad mentorship or motivational guidance without concrete action and follow-up
  • Handling student administration—calendar management, documentation, or admissions logistics
  • Attending faculty meetings or navigating institutional processes (your focus remains on direct student impact)

Key responsibilities

Propel student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while maintaining their academic standing.

Candidate requirements

  • Willing to be on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation assistance provided)
  • Minimum 2 years coaching or developing others (direct reports, colleagues, or clients) with a concrete example of a coaching engagement and its results
  • Professional background owning critical outcomes or performance metrics, with at least one example showing $500,000+ in annual revenue impact
  • Minimum 1 year working with young people (students, early-career professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, skill development, or ventures
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Founded, co-founded, or ran a startup or early-stage company
  • Experience as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or top-performing individual contributor with full ownership of results
  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance coaching preparation, data analysis, or messaging
  • Experience in K-12 education, EdTech, or programs integrating academics with practical application (incubators, project-based curricula, entrepreneurship initiatives)
