Venture Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Based on-site in Austin, TX (we provide relocation assistance)
  • $150,000 annually, paid out weekly. Full health benefits begin day one.

The best way to support a teenager launching a business is to hold them accountable and not allow mediocrity. You understand that high expectations aren't added stress—they're a signal that you believe the student is capable of achieving them. If this resonates with you, continue reading.

You'll work with high school students running real businesses with $1M upside potential. These aren't classroom exercises or hypothetical scenarios. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be spent in one-on-one coaching: pinpointing where each founder is blocked, surfacing the most impactful next step, and enforcing accountability around a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% is divided between academic monitoring and delivering workshops that equip students with practical, usable skills—not just theory.

This isn't a traditional educator role. You are accountable for student results across three dimensions: venture traction, academic performance, and personal development. You'll leverage dashboards, business performance data, and academic metrics to coach based on evidence, not gut feel. If a student's grades begin to decline, you step in proactively. If a venture plateaus, you surface the underlying issue—not the surface-level excuse.

You'll begin by understanding each student's business, their capabilities, and their recurring obstacles. Over time, you become the person whose challenge they respect, because you've operated in the real world yourself. The payoff is seeing a 16-year-old arrive with an idea and leave with a live business, the habits to sustain it, and academic standing that preserves future opportunity.

If you've been seeking a position where your operational background directly influences the next wave of entrepreneurs, apply now. If you prefer a scripted syllabus, predictable routines, or a setting where effort alone is rewarded, this isn't the right fit.

What you will be doing

  • Providing 1:1 coaching to student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your weekly time
  • Leveraging student dashboards, venture updates, and academic records to assess progress and set priorities
  • Tracking academic standing and stepping in early when time management or focus begins to falter
  • Designing and delivering workshops with tangible, skill-building outcomes
  • Running stand-ups, retrospectives, and group check-ins that reinforce accountability to self-set objectives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching formal lessons or adhering to a predetermined curriculum (you enable applied learning, not traditional instruction)
  • Offering general advice or inspirational messaging without requiring concrete follow-through
  • Handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, or enrollment coordination
  • Attending faculty committees or navigating institutional red tape (your focus remains on direct student impact)

Key responsibilities

Guide student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while maintaining their academic trajectory.

  • At least 1 year working directly with young people (students, junior professionals, or youth initiative participants) on projects, skill development, or entrepreneurial efforts
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Have founded, co-founded, or run a startup or early-stage venture
  • Served as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or high-impact IC with full ownership of results
  • Familiar with using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance coaching preparation, data analysis, or correspondence
  • Experience in K-12 settings, EdTech, or programs integrating academics with hands-on application (e.g., accelerators, entrepreneurship curricula, project-driven education)
