At Alpha, academic instruction is delivered through software. Adaptive technology allows each student to progress through subjects at their own speed. No traditional lectures, no homework assignments, no grading papers. This structure frees you to focus on what truly transforms lives: facilitating life skill workshops where high school students develop public speaking abilities, concentration, and feedback skills, then providing individual coaching to maintain their motivation and achieve learning targets. Half your time involves leading group sessions. The other half is spent one-on-one with students, analyzing their Coachbot data to pinpoint exactly where obstacles exist and why.
Students will complete a mastery-based assessment following each workshop. Over 90% should rate your performance highly. 100% should be making progress in their applications. Throughout this work, you'll develop expertise in creating workshops that engage teenagers, mastering advanced learning software, and forming meaningful connections with students and families. What you will be doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for high school students covering subjects like public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, followed by assessing mastery through a structured Test2Pass evaluation
- Conducting daily motivation sessions that leverage Coachbot analytics to engage individual students, determine where they're encountering difficulty in their learning apps, and help them overcome obstacles
- Creating personalized motivational approaches with students, including reward systems and incentives that encourage autonomous progress in their academic applications
- Examining curriculum and lesson plans prior to each session, then adjusting your approach based on group dynamics and student engagement
What you will NOT be doing
- Delivering academic instruction. Software manages math, reading, and all other academic subjects.
- Overseeing a school or supervising staff. No budget responsibilities, no recruitment, no operational meetings; your complete attention is on your student cohort.
- Enforcing discipline through conventional authority. No detentions, no suspensions, no "do it because I say so." You rely on reasoning and positive reinforcement to create a respectful, energized environment.

Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- 3+ years of direct experience working with high school students (ages 13-18)
- Available to work in-person in Brownsville, TX (relocation support provided)
- Legal authorization to work in the US
Nice to have
- Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program coordinator who has motivated teenagers in non-classroom settings
- Demonstrated history of guiding groups toward quantifiable objectives (completion rates, performance metrics, behavioral improvements)
- Familiarity with adaptive learning platforms or educational technology tools
- Narrative skills that capture and maintain teenage attention, delivered with cultural sensitivity and authenticity
