Operations Administrator   $75,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at one of our campus locations.

Many schools tuck operations away behind closed doors, lengthy meetings, and approval processes. Alpha takes a different approach. This role is highly visible throughout the day: welcoming families at the door, resolving device problems, ensuring smooth arrival procedures, reassuring concerned parents, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the campus feels secure, polished, and distinctly Alpha.

This position suits someone who can project warmth without compromising standards, maintain organization without relying solely on procedures, and demonstrate confidence while staying hands-on. You will manage nearly every operational aspect outside of classroom instruction: family communications, attendance management, campus security, facility oversight, meal programs, technology devices, campus events, and the minor issues that escalate quickly without prompt attention.

You will not be surrounded by a large on-site operations team. You will have documented procedures, remote assistance, and established guidelines, but you must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, leverage available resources, and exercise sound judgment independently. In return, you will become the reliable presence that families recognize, the person guides depend on, and the adult students approach when they need help solving a problem.

If you are seeking a prominent school operations position where customer service, decision-making, communication, and accountability are essential daily, submit your application now.

What you will be doing

  • Serve as the primary trusted contact for parents, students, staff, and campus visitors, providing clear, composed, and prompt communication.
  • Oversee daily campus operations, including morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, attendance tracking, transportation coordination, lunch management, campus cleanliness, event execution, and facility maintenance follow-through.
  • Address campus safety and student wellness matters, including entry management, emergency drills, health situations, record-keeping, and family notifications.
  • Oversee student technology devices and essential campus systems, including initial setup, user account assistance, issue resolution, data backups, repair coordination, and escalation to remote technical support.
  • Develop positive relationships with Guides, service vendors, and families by prioritizing assistance while upholding established standards.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Remaining out of sight in an office while others manage parent and student interactions.
  • Delivering classroom instruction, mentoring Guides, or developing academic content.
  • Deferring every decision to a supervisor before taking action.
  • Managing campus operations through prolonged meetings when immediate answers are required.
  • Viewing facilities management, device support, vendor coordination, or meal services as outside your scope.

Key responsibilities

Deliver a secure, efficient, and inviting campus environment that builds confidence among students, parents, and staff on a daily basis.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or similar operational roles
  • Comfort with basic technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across parents, staff, and vendors
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Available to work in-person in one of our campuses: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; or Brentwood, TN — or willing to relocate

Nice to have
