School Program Manager   $200,000 CAD Salaried employee

Description

  • On-site position in Toronto, Canada
  • $200,000 CAD annually

The most powerful support you can offer a struggling 8-year-old is maintaining high expectations. If that concept troubles you, this role isn't the right fit. If it resonates, continue reading.

Alpha has redesigned conventional instruction. Academic learning happens through adaptive applications at each student's individual pace. No traditional lectures. No artificial grade-level limits. What remains—and what carries the greatest weight—is what technology cannot provide: the life skills, the drive, and the adult who maintains standards each student believes are beyond their reach. That responsibility is yours.

A typical morning may begin with coaching a Guide using their Coachbot analytics, identifying exactly where a cohort is falling behind. Mid-morning transitions to facilitating live workshops with K-8 students, executing playbook activities focused on public speaking or feedback skills. Afternoons center on motivation work: reviewing individual student progress data, leveraging Alpha's incentive architecture (school currency, leaderboards), and re-engaging a reluctant 7th grader. The breakdown: forty percent workshops, thirty percent motivation efforts, thirty percent Guide coaching. Throughout, you maintain your own student cohort, ensuring your coaching remains rooted in direct practice rather than theory.

You've likely heard you're overly results-oriented for education. Too metrics-focused. Too willing to maintain boundaries that unsettle other adults. Alpha was designed for precisely that individual. You validate the model's effectiveness through your own student outcomes, elevate the Guides (Alpha's teacher equivalent) around you to match that standard, and as your results compound, your authority over campus-wide program quality expands.

Maintain the standard. Transform the student. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour live workshops focused on life skills (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) for K-8 students, executing Alpha's playbook
  • Conducting motivation sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and Alpha's incentive architecture (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% student goal completion
  • Providing coaching to Guides on program fidelity and standards maintenance, ensuring every session generates specific improvement actions
  • Managing your own student cohort to keep your coaching anchored in direct, firsthand experience
  • Monitoring student satisfaction scores, goal completion rates, and Guide performance metrics on a weekly basis to identify underperformance promptly

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering instruction in math, reading, or any academic content — adaptive apps manage all academic teaching
  • Developing curriculum or creating new workshop activities (Alpha's playbook serves as your operating system; excellence lies in execution quality)
  • Coaching Guides on instructional methods (Guides don't teach — your coaching targets energy, motivation, and accountability)
  • Overseeing campus operations, financial management, or administrative functions
  • Compromising standards when a student approaches but hasn't met the threshold (the bar remains constant; your role is helping them clear it)

Key responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every student: loving school, learning at twice the conventional pace, and developing real-world life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • On-site presence in Toronto, Canada (not remote or hybrid)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related field
  • Leadership experience managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based terminations
  • Hands-on experience working with youth ages 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts
  • Track record of building, launching, or meaningfully scaling a program, team, school, or initiative — not simply inheriting or maintaining existing structures
  • Comfort operating in a school environment that deliberately rejects traditional pedagogy
  • Legal work authorization in Canada

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline
  • Background coaching athletics, leading experiential programs, directing camps, or managing youth programs at scale with cohort management and outcome measurement
  • Transitioned from classroom teaching to build or operate programs from a different capacity (EdTech, tutoring enterprises, youth nonprofits, school intervention teams)
  • Familiarity using learning analytics platforms to inform weekly coaching decisions
  • Conviction that the existing education system is fundamentally broken and personal commitment to reconstructing it
