Director of Admissions and Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions positions focus on increasing numbers. This one is designed to uphold quality.

Alpha is developing one of the most rigorous school models in existence. Our locations integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and educators. Students routinely progress faster than national averages, supported by measurable data. Afternoon hours are dedicated to deeper learning, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. However, it succeeds only when matched with appropriate families.

This is your entry point.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a compartmentalized position. You hold accountability for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against admission when warranted. Maximum enrollment is not the objective. Alignment is.

We welcome applicants from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership communities, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen high-stakes client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a consultative, multi-phase process with sound judgment, transparency, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where credibility, confidentiality, and client experience shape the brand, this role will be recognizable—simply directed toward outcomes that genuinely matter.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in Chicago, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Southlake, and Houston. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial inquiry to onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate compatibility prior to offering recommendations or outlining subsequent actions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships at varying enrollment stages, maintaining clear tracking and timely follow-through.
  • Orchestrating campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that transparently convey results, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, task prioritization, and sustained service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales approaches.
  • Admitting families who lack alignment merely to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or navigating complex hierarchical structures.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family experience across multiple team members.
  • Operating remotely. This position is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that successfully enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the standards and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly shapes brand perception (education, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or independently operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial engagement through final onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships at different phases, supported by an organized tracking methodology.
  • Capacity to offer specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional written communication history with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN, Oklahoma City, OK, Tulsa, OK, Southlake, TX, or Houston, TX.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment.
  • Background in high-end hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely velocity.
