Director of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions positions focus on driving volume. This position is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the most forward-thinking school frameworks globally. Our locations integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students routinely achieve learning velocity that surpasses national averages, supported by verifiable data. Afternoon hours are dedicated to mastery, autonomy, and practical competency development. This framework delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your mandate.

You will control the complete enrollment cycle for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a relay role. You are accountable for the family experience, the clarity with which they grasp our model, and whether enrollment choices are made with sound reasoning. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when that serves the family and institution best. The objective is not enrollment maximization. The objective is mutual alignment.

We welcome applicants from elite service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive admissions programs, high-end hospitality, executive concierge services, exclusive membership communities, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen premium client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to orchestrate a refined, phased engagement with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where credibility, confidentiality, and experiential excellence shape brand perception, this role will resonate—only now applied to work that produces meaningful educational impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are currently hiring in Greenwich, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Chantilly. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the enrollment process for prospective families, spanning first interaction through final onboarding.
  • Facilitating diagnostic consultations to evaluate alignment before proposing pathways or advising on subsequent actions.
  • Stewarding 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment stages, maintaining transparent tracking of progress and touchpoints.
  • Orchestrating campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment dialogues that articulate outcomes, standards, and target families with precision.
  • Ensuring CRM accuracy and enrollment data integrity (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and sustained service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or coercive enrollment methods.
  • Admitting incompatible families to satisfy numerical targets.
  • Overseeing large teams or navigating complex hierarchical approvals.
  • Distributing ownership of the family relationship across multiple staff members.
  • Operating remotely. This role is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that attracts and converts aligned families while safeguarding the quality and outcomes of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, tailored service in settings where experience quality directly influences brand standing (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or independently operated client services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycle from initial engagement through onboarding completion.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ relationships with clients, guests, or families across multiple stages, supported by a defined tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Ability to share specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against engagement when alignment was absent.
  • Professional correspondence experience with senior leadership, high-net-worth clientele, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Palm Beach, FL; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Chantilly, VA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive independent school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality services, VIP client management, or executive support functions.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, operational standards, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely throughput.
