Director of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions prioritize volume, this role is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing a school model of exceptional ambition. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-driven instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely exceed national learning benchmarks—the outcomes are measurable. Afternoons are dedicated to deeper exploration, independent work, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families. That responsibility is yours.

You will lead the complete admissions process for a campus, from initial application to final enrollment. This position does not involve delegation. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and recommend declining applicants when appropriate. Maximum enrollment is not the objective. Mission alignment is.

We welcome applicants from high-caliber service sectors outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, premium hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen complex client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability. If your background includes delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and experience quality shape the brand, this position will resonate. Apply now to contribute that caliber of work to something meaningful.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the entire enrollment experience for prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based discussions to evaluate compatibility prior to offering solutions or advising on next actions.
  • Stewarding 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment stages, maintaining complete transparency on progress and follow-up activities.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that articulate expectations, results, and ideal candidate profiles with clarity.
  • Keeping CRM systems and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) current to enable accurate forecasting, strategic prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families whose values or goals conflict with our model simply to reach enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or navigating complex hierarchical approvals.
  • Distributing responsibility for family relationships across multiple team members.
  • Operating remotely. This is an on-campus position by necessity.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a selective, trust-centered enrollment process that successfully enrolls mission-aligned families while safeguarding the academic integrity and operational excellence of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing high-touch, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, premium hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership services, or owner-managed client operations).
  • Proven ownership of complete client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycles from initial inquiry through successful onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts at varying stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Capacity to supply specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional correspondence experience with C-level executives, affluent clientele, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Atlanta, GA; or Boston, MA.
  • Work authorization in the United States without need for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in admissions for competitive private schools or selective enrollment programs.
  • Experience in premium hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • History of developing or enhancing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality rather than merely accelerating timelines.
