Description

You've seen it happen. A student who once stumbled over every sentence begins to read smoothly, with confidence replacing uncertainty. The struggle fades. Progress takes hold. If creating those turning points is what drives you, this position is designed with that purpose in mind.

Novatio operates as a fully remote school committed to advancing student achievement through individualized support, effective teaching, and outcomes you can measure. We recognize that students who struggle with reading require more than digital tools and practice sheets. They need precise intervention, steady reinforcement, and instructors capable of adjusting their approach on the fly.

In this position, you will provide virtual reading intervention sessions to students in grades 3–8 while building the confidence and perseverance necessary for sustained growth. You will analyze assessment data to identify skill deficits, modify instruction as needed, and design interventions tailored to each student's current level. You will also facilitate brief motivational sessions that maintain student engagement, accountability, and pride in their achievements.

This position suits someone who appreciates independence, rapid feedback, and clear results. If you seek the freedom to customize instruction while guiding students toward measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Providing virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions to students in grades 3–8
  • Analyzing assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify comprehension and fluency deficits and modify instruction promptly
  • Adapting instruction to address multiple reading levels, including intervention for students with dyslexia and associated reading challenges
  • Monitoring student progress systematically and applying data insights to shape future intervention strategies
  • Facilitating structured motivational sessions that enhance confidence, persistence, and personal accountability for growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting large lecture-style classes using a predetermined curriculum
  • Adhering strictly to intervention scripts without responding to individual student requirements
  • Serving as a passive supervisor for software-driven learning platforms
  • Relying on superficial rewards instead of fostering genuine student motivation and self-assurance

Key responsibilities

Produce measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 through tailored virtual intervention and motivational support that cultivates enduring confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
