Reading Intervention Teacher   $60,000 USD/year

Description

You recognize that moment when everything shifts. A student who once stumbled now reads with assurance rather than doubt. Frustration lifts. Progress accelerates. If creating that turning point is what drives you, this position is designed for you.

Novatio operates as a fully remote educational institution committed to advancing student achievement through individualized support, effective teaching methods, and trackable results. We understand that students facing reading challenges require more than digital tools and practice sheets. They need focused intervention, steady reinforcement, and instructors capable of making real-time adjustments.

In this position, you will conduct virtual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8 while fostering the confidence and determination necessary for sustained improvement. You will analyze assessment data to identify skill deficiencies, modify instruction rapidly, and design interventions aligned with each student's current abilities. You will also facilitate brief motivational check-ins that maintain student engagement, accountability, and pride in their achievements.

This position suits someone who appreciates independence, immediate feedback, and tangible results. If you seek the freedom to customize instruction while guiding students toward measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension, we invite your application.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
  • Analyzing assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify comprehension and fluency deficiencies and modify instruction rapidly
  • Adapting instruction across varied reading levels, including accommodations for students with dyslexia and similar reading difficulties
  • Monitoring student progress systematically and applying the data to shape subsequent intervention strategies
  • Facilitating structured motivational check-ins that build confidence, perseverance, and personal responsibility for growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting large lecture-format classes using a predetermined curriculum
  • Adhering to inflexible intervention protocols without responding to individual student requirements
  • Serving as a passive supervisor for software-driven learning platforms
  • Relying on superficial rewards rather than cultivating genuine student motivation and self-assurance

Key responsibilities

Produce measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 through customized virtual intervention and motivational support that fosters enduring confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
