Academic Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

This role is for people who believe education must operate with greater speed, precision, and accountability.

2 Hour Learning condenses what conventional schools distribute over a full day into concentrated learning cycles designed for measurable impact. That approach depends on academic decisions that are accurate, prompt, and fully owned. This role fulfills that need: converting raw student performance data into actionable insights, then pairing that analysis with direct coaching that eliminates obstacles before they escalate.

You will work at the nexus of data interpretation and personal engagement. In one moment, you're reviewing performance metrics to identify early warning signs and support placement decisions with sound rationale. In the next, you're working one-on-one with a student, diagnosing misunderstandings as they happen and guiding them past sticking points before minor issues compound into real setbacks. This is not a passive observation role. You own the results.

This role suits those who want their decisions to produce visible impact quickly. If you value autonomy, prefer direct engagement with students, and find satisfaction in enabling children to learn at double the rate through better judgment, this environment will align with your strengths.

Consider applying if you want your contributions to be measurable by week's end, not at semester close.

What you will be doing

  • Review and interpret student performance data to create clear, actionable academic reports that enable timely responses
  • Take full ownership of academic progress for a defined student cohort, covering placement decisions, testing strategy, and follow-up execution
  • Deliver focused academic intervention sessions designed to uncover root causes and eliminate learning obstacles immediately
  • Lead post-assessment coaching conversations to distinguish conceptual gaps from execution errors and assign precise corrective actions
  • Partner with academic leadership and family engagement teams to flag emerging risks and refine operational tools or workflows

What you will NOT be doing

  • Producing analytical reports that sit unused
  • Operating exclusively in the background without any direct student contact
  • Delegating academic responsibility to classroom instructors, tutors, or families
  • Conducting undirected tutoring sessions that lack diagnostic intent
  • Allowing weeks to pass before addressing visible student challenges

Key responsibilities

Provide precise, well-timed academic analysis and direct student interventions that demonstrably improve learning velocity for your designated student groups.

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year in a coaching, teaching, or training capacity with documented outcomes or performance feedback
  • At least 1 year of sustained, direct experience working with K–8 students (sporadic tutoring engagements do not meet this threshold)
  • Proven background in data science, education, EdTech, or student services roles that integrate analytical and interpersonal responsibilities
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Ukrainian and English
  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Sheets, including lookups, filters, pivot tables, and visualization tools
  • High emotional intelligence and the capacity to establish trust rapidly with both students and parents
  • Demonstrated application of AI tools to analyze datasets or streamline processes, with quantifiable productivity improvements
