School Office Manager   $110,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person position based at our New York City campus.

Frustrated by cookie-cutter schools that limit growth? Alpha is redefining education for students who exceed conventional classroom expectations. We seek a motivated operations professional who designs smooth, orderly, high-caliber systems that enable outstanding learning—day in and day out.

Alpha is not just another private institution. We integrate demanding academics with practical skills and our validated 2-Hour Learning framework that accelerates student progress beyond standard grade-level benchmarks. In this position, you serve as the operational core of our campus: you manage the daily rhythm, safeguard focused learning time, and maintain every operational detail so Guides can mentor without interruption. You'll handle safety, facilities oversight, and foundational technology administration while cultivating a supportive, high-expectation environment for students and families.

If you excel at establishing clear procedures, resolving issues rapidly, and delivering measurable results, this role is ideal. You'll create a campus atmosphere that feels purposeful, streamlined, and invigorating—where intellectual ambition thrives and self-reliance is developed. Join our team to build a school where driven students advance more quickly, develop greater resilience, and demonstrate leadership through character.

What you will be doing

  • Managing comprehensive daily campus operations to ensure the 2-Hour Learning model runs on schedule and without disruption.
  • Handling first-line technology support (equipment configuration, basic troubleshooting) and coordinating with IT for advanced issues.
  • Cultivating confidence among students, families, and team members through precise communication and reliable execution.
  • Executing and reviewing campus safety procedures; overseeing drills, incident documentation, and vendor relationships.
  • Facilitating essential functions—campus events, staff integration, inventory and facility oversight—to maintain consistently high operational standards.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or developing curriculum; Guides provide student mentorship while you ensure operational performance.
  • Operating from an isolated administrative space with minimal impact; your contributions directly enhance student success and family engagement.
  • Spending time on low-value tasks unrelated to accelerated learning; all of your efforts connect to efficiency, security, or excellence.

Key responsibilities

Lead comprehensive campus operations to ensure our facility operates punctually, consistently, and at a standard that supports accelerated learning and superior family satisfaction.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (any field)
  • 1+ years managing multi-faceted operations in education, events, hospitality, or a similar high-service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain composed during emergencies, exercise initiative, and balance competing priorities autonomously.
  • Proficiency with basic IT troubleshooting and Google Workspace administration.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication that builds community trust.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work on-site in NYC, NY.
