School Office Manager   $110,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site position based at our New York City campus.

Frustrated by standardized schools that limit student growth? Alpha is redefining education for learners who exceed conventional classroom pace. We seek a results-oriented operator to create smooth, disciplined, high-caliber systems that enable outstanding learning—day in, day out.

Alpha is not a conventional private school. We integrate demanding academics with practical skills and a validated 2-Hour Learning methodology that accelerates student progress beyond standard grade trajectories. In this position, you serve as the operational core of our campus: you control daily rhythm, safeguard focused learning time, and maintain precision in every element so Guides can mentor without interruption. You'll manage safety, facilities, and foundational technology administration while cultivating a welcoming, high-performance culture for students and families.

If you excel at structured systems, rapid problem resolution, and measurable results, this role fits. You'll create a campus environment that feels purposeful, streamlined, and dynamic—where academic drive is honored and self-reliance is developed. Join us to help build a school where ambitious students advance faster, develop resilience, and lead with integrity.

What you will be doing

  • Managing comprehensive daily campus operations to maintain the 2-Hour Learning schedule without delays or disruptions.
  • Handling first-level technology support (equipment configuration, basic troubleshooting) and managing escalations to IT teams.
  • Establishing credibility with students, families, and colleagues through precise communication and reliable execution.
  • Executing and reviewing campus safety procedures; overseeing drills, incident documentation, and vendor relationships.
  • Enabling critical functions—events, staff orientation, inventory and facilities oversight—to ensure the campus consistently meets high standards.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering instruction or designing coursework; Guides handle student mentorship while you ensure operational performance.
  • Operating in isolation with limited impact; your contributions directly enhance student progress and family engagement.
  • Spending time on low-value tasks unrelated to accelerated learning; all your efforts connect to efficiency, safety, or excellence.

Key responsibilities

Lead the complete campus operation to ensure our campus functions punctually, to standard, and at a level that supports accelerated learning and superior family satisfaction.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (any field)
  • 1+ years overseeing complex operations in education, events, hospitality, or a comparable high-touch service setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain composed under pressure, demonstrate initiative, and manage competing priorities autonomously.
  • Proficiency with basic IT troubleshooting and Google Workspace administration.
  • Clear, professional written and spoken communication that fosters community confidence.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and available to work on-site in NYC, NY.
