Description

The families who choose Alpha Miami rely on trusted advisors across every aspect of their lives. This is the relationship they've been lacking.

You will become the person they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when something doesn't feel right, or when they want to share a meaningful moment they know you'll appreciate. You'll develop the insight to anticipate each family's needs before they articulate them—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to respond to whatever they bring you with discretion, warmth, and seamless professionalism. Over time, your role will extend beyond managing their child's school experience. You'll become woven into the way they navigate this defining chapter of their family's journey.

Miami's private school landscape is intimate, tightly networked, and intolerant of errors. How a family experiences Alpha doesn't remain contained within the school—it circulates through the networks that hold influence: the condominium, the club, the yacht, the charity gala, the WhatsApp threads that determine where the next wave of families will enroll. You'll grasp this reality intuitively, because your career has been built in environments where reputation is the sole currency of value and a single lapse endures longer than any success. You'll cultivate a community that families feel invested in protecting, where belonging feels natural and referrals emerge because the experience justifies them.

Miami is inherently global. You'll engage with Latin American families, international executives, finance and technology professionals who have recently relocated to Miami, and globally mobile households whose understanding of education—and institutions more broadly—has been shaped by experiences well beyond the American independent school model. Many transition as fluidly between Miami, São Paulo, Bogotá, Madrid, and New York as others commute locally, and they will evaluate Alpha against alternatives anywhere on the planet. The ideal candidate for this position will navigate cross-cultural family dynamics—and the expectation of sophisticated, adaptable relationships—with the same confidence they bring to the established norms of Miami's private school community.

Alpha operates outside traditional schooling conventions. Students complete core academics in two hours daily using AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and real-world projects. No lectures. No busywork. Top 1% outcomes nationwide.

The families who select it have made a deliberate choice—and in a city where education decisions serve as markers of status and everyone holds an opinion, they will face constant pressure to justify that choice. You'll ensure they are never without a confident answer. If sustaining that conviction through years of discerning, internationally informed skepticism feels burdensome, this position is not for you. If it represents the most compelling conversation you could be leading, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Shape the cultural identity of the school community—the tone, rituals, and implicit standards that create a sense of belonging—so that Alpha feels like a place families take pride in, not merely a school they selected
  • Manage the parent relationship from beginning to end—from initial outreach through enrollment, retention, and sustained advocacy—so that faculty remain concentrated on students and families always have a trusted point of contact
  • Detect early when something is amiss, and address it with the discretion and judgment that preserves trust—including the more difficult judgment of recognizing when a family is not aligned with the school
  • Maintain visibility where families gather: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, evening programming, and the informal exchanges that carry the most weight
  • Develop a community that both domestic and international families feel invested in protecting—and where referrals occur because the experience warrants them
  • Communicate Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual conversations, at gatherings, and in the settings filled with discerning, globally oriented families where the school's reputation is truly established

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating from behind a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are integral to the position, not occasional
  • Delegating challenging parent conversations to faculty or administrators—these are yours to manage, completely
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, established workflows, or a fully staffed team—you function with significant autonomy and construct what is necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic connection, not procedural adherence

Key responsibilities

Serve as the central trusted relationship for every family's experience at Alpha's Miami campus, and as the architect of the community culture that surrounds it. Maintain their confidence through challenging moments, establish the traditions and tone that make belonging feel intentional, and create the environment where satisfied families evolve into active advocates within the networks that influence Miami's independent school landscape.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years building and sustaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a high-touch, relationship-centered role
  • Demonstrated experience guiding discerning clients through high-stakes decisions—with measurable outcomes you can discuss: conversions, retention, referrals
  • The discretion and poise to manage sensitive, confidential matters without creating friction
  • Proven experience managing and developing people—coaching, maintaining high standards, and making difficult personnel decisions—not only managing relationships or accounts
  • Innate cross-cultural fluency across globally mobile and established Miami family networks
  • AI-first orientation—you use AI tools with ease, understand their strengths and limitations, and proactively identify superior solutions, even if you're not engineering them directly
  • Based in Miami, available full-time on-site, and flexible with non-standard hours
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or in a comparable school leadership role
  • Professional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Personal or professional familiarity with independent or non-traditional education
  • Existing relationships inside Miami's private school parent networks
  • Experience with internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected families
  • A personal network that spans the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families live and decide
