Description

Families at Alpha Miami rely on trusted advisors across every dimension of their lives. You will become the one they have been missing.

You will be the person they reach out to when questions arise, when intuition signals a concern, or when they want to share a milestone with someone who truly understands. You will develop a deep familiarity with each family—enough to sense their needs before they articulate them—and you will bring the judgment, poise, and grace to respond with discretion and ease. Over time, you will become more than a representative of their child's school. You will be woven into the way they experience this formative period of their family's journey.

Miami's private school landscape is intimate, tightly networked, and unforgiving of errors. A family's Alpha experience does not remain behind closed doors—it circulates through the channels that define influence: residential buildings, private clubs, social gatherings, the gala calendar, and the WhatsApp threads that determine where the next family enrolls. You will navigate this terrain intuitively, drawing on a career spent in environments where reputation is the sole measure of value and a single lapse reverberates indefinitely. You will cultivate a community that families defend and champion, where inclusion feels natural and referrals emerge organically from the strength of the experience.

Miami operates as a global hub by nature. You will engage with families from Latin America, international corporate leaders, finance and technology professionals newly anchored in Miami, and globally mobile households whose educational expectations—and institutional relationships—are informed by contexts well beyond the American independent school model. Many transition fluidly between Miami, São Paulo, Bogotá, Madrid, and New York as readily as others commute locally, and they will evaluate Alpha against alternatives worldwide. The ideal candidate will navigate cross-cultural family dynamics and the expectation of seamless, sophisticated engagement as confidently as they do the established patterns of Miami's private school community.

Alpha represents a departure from conventional schooling. Students complete core academic work in two hours daily through AI-powered applications, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally.

The families who select Alpha have made a deliberate choice—and in a city where opinions are abundant and educational decisions signal status, they will be asked to justify it repeatedly. You will ensure they are never without a confident response. If sustaining that conviction through years of discerning, globally informed scrutiny feels daunting, this position is not the right match. If it represents the most compelling professional challenge you can envision, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Shape the cultural fabric of the school community—the atmosphere, rituals, and implicit norms that foster a sense of belonging—so Alpha becomes a place families take pride in, not merely a school they selected
  • Steward the entire parent relationship arc—from initial contact through enrollment, ongoing retention, and sustained advocacy—so faculty remain concentrated on students and families always have a reliable point of contact
  • Detect early signals when dynamics shift, and address them with the care and judgment that preserve confidence—including the more challenging determination of when a family is not aligned with Alpha's model
  • Maintain visibility where families gather: morning arrivals, afternoon departures, evening programs, and the spontaneous exchanges that carry the most weight
  • Develop a community that both domestic and international families actively champion—and where word-of-mouth referrals flow naturally from the quality of the experience
  • Communicate Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual meetings, at community events, and in the sophisticated, globally connected circles where the school's standing is truly established

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating from behind a desk—your physical presence within the community defines the role
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are inherent to the position, not occasional demands
  • Escalating challenging parent discussions to faculty or administration—you assume full ownership of these interactions
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, predefined workflows, or a complete team—you function with considerable autonomy and construct what is necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role succeeds through authentic engagement, not procedural adherence

Key responsibilities

Serve as the central trusted relationship for every family at Alpha's Miami campus, and the architect of the surrounding community culture. Sustain their confidence through challenging moments, establish the traditions and tone that make belonging meaningful, and create the environment in which satisfied families become articulate advocates within the networks that influence Miami's private education landscape.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years building and maintaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a relationship-intensive, high-touch capacity
  • Demonstrated success guiding discerning clients through consequential decisions—with measurable outcomes you can reference: conversion rates, retention figures, referral volume
  • The discretion and steadiness to navigate sensitive, confidential matters without leaving visible impact
  • Proven experience managing and developing people—mentoring, upholding rigorous standards, and executing difficult personnel decisions—not simply managing relationships or client accounts
  • Innate cross-cultural fluency with globally mobile families and established Miami residents
  • AI-forward orientation—you use AI tools with ease, understand their strengths and limitations, and actively introduce improved solutions, even if you are not building them directly
  • Located in Miami, available for full-time on-site engagement, and adaptable to non-standard hours
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or equivalent school leadership position
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Personal or professional exposure to independent or non-traditional educational models
  • Established connections within Miami's private school parent communities
  • Experience serving internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected family populations
  • A personal network extending into the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families reside and make decisions
