Alpha operates a condensed K-12 learning system: timed down to the minute, more intensive than conventional school schedules, and centered on a Guide dedicated solely to teaching. The system functions only when someone controls the operational flow — seamless transitions, materials prepped before instruction begins, student focus maintained before minor distractions escalate into major ones.
Starting from week one, you're directly involved. There's no gradual introduction. You'll be watching the room, implementing Alpha's approved motivational strategies (positive reinforcement, structured cues, immediate redirection), and setting up each activity so the Guide can begin teaching instantly. When you perform effectively, a drifting student returns to focus before the lesson loses momentum. The standards are specific: 95% punctual transitions, materials ready prior to every lesson, continuous student engagement.

What you will be doing
- Overseeing student transitions across activities (approximately 30% of your role): tracking time, cueing students to move, and applying positive reinforcement to maintain orderly, on-schedule flow
- Readying classroom materials ahead of each lesson by collecting supplies, arranging them according to the activity plan, and verifying setup aligns with the Guide's directives before teaching starts
- Supporting student engagement throughout structured activities (approximately 40% of your role) by observing participation, catching disengagement early, and redirecting students with Alpha-approved classroom management methods without disrupting instruction
What you will NOT be doing
- Observing passively from the room's perimeter waiting for issues to emerge — this position demands active involvement and moment-to-moment judgment across the school day
- Creating lesson plans, drafting activity outlines, or bearing responsibility for academic results (those belong to the Guide)
- Developing your own methods for student behavior; Alpha's motivational framework is established and you'll implement it uniformly
- Handling facility maintenance, carpool coordination, or outside-of-hours programming; your focus is classroom operations during instructional hours

Candidate requirements
- Available to work on-site at our Scottsdale campus.
- Commit to at least 10 hours weekly, with complete flexibility to select your schedule within school hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Full-time position available.
- Prior experience working with children ages 5–14 in structured environments (school, camp, childcare, tutoring, or coaching).
- Capacity to organize people, materials, and activities swiftly and efficiently.
- Approachable with children and confident redirecting them through positive encouragement.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Direct group management experience with active children (camp counselor, classroom aide, teacher's aide, paraprofessional, youth sports coach, or after-school program coordinator)
- Background in mastery-based, competency-based, or structured educational programs (Montessori, project-based learning, or comparable models)
- Demonstrated ability to keep groups on schedule through positive redirection instead of escalating to adult intervention
