Software Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • Remote · Contractor · $50/hr

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer who excels at tackling complex technical problems and shipping features that drive measurable impact. In this role, you will develop cutting-edge AI-powered products designed to reshape how individuals learn and develop. Your work will emphasize quality execution, with a focus on building products that are scalable, maintainable, and meaningful.

Our product portfolio is redefining education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Delivers personalized, immersive storytelling experiences that enhance student comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as an intelligent learning assistant, embedding within existing applications to provide proactive student coaching.
  • Athena: Combines AI-generated video content and assessments to produce quantifiable academic progress.

This position is designed to create tangible outcomes through functional software. You will leverage AI tooling and cloud-native infrastructure to construct full-stack solutions that address real challenges—not simply complete task lists. You will be expected to deliver quickly while maintaining high standards, selecting the most straightforward correct approach that balances immediate velocity with sustained maintainability.

If you are prepared to address sophisticated technical problems and create meaningful features, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and Deploy Full-Stack Capabilities: Transform user stories from concept to production; clarify specifications, architect scalable systems, implement backend and frontend logic, conduct comprehensive testing, and release to live environments
  • Identify and Resolve Defects: Perform root cause investigation of issues, address underlying problems rather than superficial symptoms, and prevent future regressions through intelligent test coverage
  • Elevate Engineering Standards: Assess design proposals and code submissions to maintain clarity, simplicity, and correctness, preventing technical debt accumulation from the outset

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating pixel-perfect interfaces or elaborate backend architectures for their own sake
  • Implementing specifications without first understanding the underlying problem
  • Spending time in prolonged meetings about roadmaps and priorities or coordinating across teams
  • Simply delivering features; you will be accountable for addressing genuine user challenges

Key responsibilities

  • Applying AI to develop software that addresses authentic user needs, delivers rapidly, and remains maintainable over time

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience developing production code for both frontend and backend of web applications (any framework).
  • Proven ownership mindset: Track record of owning entire modules, product capabilities, or teams—not merely completing isolated assignments
  • Self-sufficient execution: Capacity to resolve your own blockers, manage your own cadence, and navigate ambiguous circumstances independently
  • Practical experience incorporating generative A.I. into your daily development workflow
