Lead Product Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you're a senior engineer motivated by ownership, strategic impact, and solving difficult technical problems, this role offers the opportunity to create the product's most critical features while guiding its technical trajectory and securing its long-term health. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its user base, granting you both the freedom to explore innovative solutions and the accountability to execute effectively.

Our products are reshaping the way students learn:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-inspired learning interface.
  • TeachTales: Captivates learners through personalized, enchanting storytelling that enhances understanding.
  • TimeBack: Serves as an intelligent learning assistant that connects with existing tools and provides proactive student guidance.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated video content and assessments to produce quantifiable educational results.

Your mission will be to steer the technical growth of our offerings, making certain they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working in close partnership with product stakeholders, you will convert broad requirements into concrete technical architectures and navigate intricate challenges without compromising quality. The decisions you make will define the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of learners engage with educational content.

We value deliberate planning and design-first thinking. Our AI-driven methodology removes repetitive work, allowing you to concentrate on decisions that matter and on solving meaningful problems. You will operate with substantial independence and have real influence over product priorities, emphasizing enduring stability and scalability.

If you are prepared to lead the technical advancement of our SaaS platforms and harness generative AI to expand what's possible, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product leadership to clarify requirements and driving technical conversations to ensure feature alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product health, optimizing performance, and proactively detecting and addressing potential problems.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly shape user experience and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between transient projects or following the latest buzzword-driven technology fads.
  • Supporting internal IT infrastructure or managing outsourced engagements with no tangible end-user value.
  • Spending time in unproductive meetings or wrestling with monotonous infrastructure tasks.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
