This position is designed for an accomplished engineer who excels at ownership, strategic thinking, and solving demanding technical problems. You will be responsible for building critical product features while guiding technical strategy and safeguarding long-term stability and scalability. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its user base, granting you the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

Your work will span products that are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Captures student attention through personalized, immersive storytelling that enhances understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning assistant that connects with existing applications, offering proactive student guidance.
  • Athena: Delivers measurable academic results through AI-created videos and assessments.

You will lead the technical advancement of these products, making certain they remain scalable, maintainable, and dependable over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert broad requirements into concrete technical designs and navigate complex obstacles while upholding rigorous quality standards. Your choices will determine the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of learners engage with educational content.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with the product team to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure features support product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product stability, optimizing performance, and proactively detecting and addressing potential issues.
  • Technical Design: Driving high-stakes technical decisions that directly influence user experience and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived initiatives or pursuing the latest technology fads.
  • Contributing to internal IT infrastructure or outsourced engagements that lack tangible user impact.
  • Spending excessive time in meetings or troubleshooting monotonous infrastructure problems.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, delivering both front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years serving as the principal technical contributor for a SaaS product, leading strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on real SaaS products, excluding outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience integrating generative AI into your daily development workflow.
