Senior Applied AI Engineer   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Educational technology companies today confront a critical obstacle: creating learning content that genuinely engages students while addressing their individual needs. The marketplace is saturated with one-size-fits-all learning solutions that fail to deliver meaningful results. Evidence shows that educational resources which don't resonate with learners or accommodate diverse learning approaches lead to sharp declines in student engagement, undermining the quality of learning outcomes. Teachers and instructors bear the burden of this gap, tasked with delivering personalized, high-caliber education while operating under significant time and resource limitations.

LearnWith.AI directly confronts this challenge by deploying artificial intelligence to transform how educational content is produced. Our focus extends beyond developing AI tools—we engineer AI-powered systems that produce dynamic, learner-specific educational materials. Imagine an intelligent knowledge system for disciplines such as History or Science—a sophisticated repository that generates compelling, responsive content on demand. This strategy distinguishes us in an oversaturated industry and expands what AI can accomplish in education, making learning experiences more effective, accessible, and engaging.

This position differs from typical AI engineering roles. You won't be confined to routine coding tasks or theoretical model development. You'll spearhead the transformation of student learning by architecting and deploying AI-powered workflows that deliver genuinely individualized educational experiences. This opportunity is not suited for those seeking predictable assignments or gradual progress—it's designed for forward-thinking innovators ready to leverage advanced technology for tangible, real-world impact.

In this capacity, you'll architect AI-driven educational platforms with the capability to reshape the learning environment. You'll harness large language models as subject-matter experts to construct contextual knowledge frameworks and intelligent tutoring systems, ensuring our AI produces content that is relevant and substantive. If the prospect of applying AI to revolutionize education excites you, and you're prepared to own projects that challenge conventional limits, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Developing Self-Improving AI Content Generation Systems – Create agent-based workflows that produce educational materials and continuously enhance themselves through evaluation loops and systematic experimentation.
  • Constructing Evaluation Sets & Experiment Harnesses – Build curated datasets (inputs → expected outputs) and scoring mechanisms to assess, compare, and refine the quality of AI-generated educational content.
  • Architecting Context Packs – Design structured knowledge artifacts that deliver domain-specific grounding, enabling systems to produce accurate, high-quality educational materials across multiple subjects.

Key responsibilities

  • Distinguish LearnWith.AI in the competitive landscape by producing engaging, personalized educational content through AI-powered tools

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Demonstrated professional experience integrating LLMs into a software product (building a chatbot or using basic coding assistants does not meet this requirement)
  • Proven track record shipping a production system where a self-improving agent drove system iteration (e.g., designed its own tools, refined its own reward function, etc.)
  • Documented experience curating evaluation or regression sets that drive self-improving systems and establishing measurable success criteria
  • Hands-on experience with contemporary agent-orchestration tooling (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)
