Staff AI Engineer   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Educational technology companies face a significant obstacle: creating learning content that is both compelling and customized to the needs of individual learners. The market is saturated with generic, low-impact educational tools, making differentiation more critical than ever. Evidence shows that when learning materials fail to resonate with students or adjust to their specific learning preferences, engagement levels decline sharply, resulting in a deficit of meaningful educational experiences. This burden falls heavily on teachers, who must deliver personalized, high-caliber instruction while operating under tight time and resource limitations.

LearnWith.AI is addressing this challenge directly by leveraging AI technology to transform how educational content is developed. Rather than simply creating AI tools, we are building AI-powered systems that produce dynamic, learner-specific educational resources. Imagine an AI-enabled "Second Brain" for disciplines such as History or Science—a sophisticated knowledge system that can deliver engaging, adaptive materials at scale. This forward-thinking approach not only sets us apart in a competitive landscape but also expands the horizons of AI's role in education, making learning more effective, accessible, and engaging.

This position differs from typical AI engineering roles. You will not be confined to coding tasks or developing theoretical AI models. Rather, you'll spearhead the transformation of student learning by architecting and deploying AI-driven workflows that deliver genuinely personalized educational experiences. This opportunity is not suited for those who favor routine assignments or gradual enhancements—it's designed for bold innovators who want to apply advanced technology to create meaningful, real-world change.

As an essential member of our team, you will architect AI-powered educational systems with the capacity to reshape the learning environment. You'll utilize LLMs as domain specialists to construct contextual knowledge frameworks and intelligent educational assistants, ensuring our AI produces content that is both substantive and transformative. If the prospect of leveraging AI to revolutionize education excites you and you're ready to own projects that challenge conventional limits, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting Self-Improving AI Content Generation Systems – Developing agent-based workflows that produce educational materials and continuously enhance themselves through evaluation loops and systematic experimentation.
  • Developing Evaluation Sets & Experiment Harnesses – Building curated datasets (input → expected output mappings) and scoring frameworks to assess, benchmark, and refine the quality of AI-generated educational content.
  • Engineering Context Packs – Constructing structured knowledge resources that deliver domain-specific grounding, enabling systems to produce accurate, superior-quality educational content across various subjects.

Key responsibilities

  • Help LearnWith.AI distinguish itself in the market by producing engaging, personalized educational content using AI-driven tools

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Professional experience integrating LLMs into a software product (experience building a chatbot or using simple coding assistants is not sufficient)
  • Experience shipping a production system where a self-improving agent drove the iteration on the system itself (e.g., designed its own tools, refined its own reward function, etc.)
  • Experience curating evaluation or regression sets driving self-improving systems and defining measurable success criteria
  • Experience with modern agent-orchestration tooling (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)
