Staff AI Engineer   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Educational technology companies confront a persistent challenge: creating learning content that engages students while addressing their individual needs. The market is saturated with one-size-fits-all solutions that often fail to deliver meaningful results. Evidence shows that educational materials lacking personalization or adaptability lead to substantial declines in student engagement, leaving a void in effective learning outcomes. Educators bear the burden of this gap, tasked with delivering customized, high-quality instruction under significant time and budget limitations.

LearnWith.AI addresses this challenge by leveraging artificial intelligence to transform educational content development. We're building more than AI applications—we're engineering AI-driven ecosystems that produce dynamic, individualized learning resources. Envision an AI-enabled "Second Brain" for disciplines such as History or Science—a sophisticated knowledge system that generates contextually rich, adaptive content on demand. This strategy distinguishes us in a saturated marketplace and expands the scope of what AI can achieve in education, making learning more equitable, impactful, and engaging.

This role diverges from conventional AI engineering positions. You won't spend your time confined to routine coding or theoretical model development. Rather, you'll spearhead efforts to reimagine student learning by architecting and deploying AI-powered pipelines that deliver authentically personalized educational experiences. If you're drawn to predictable workflows or incremental refinements, this opportunity isn't the right fit—it's designed for ambitious technologists ready to apply advanced AI to solve tangible, high-impact problems.

As a core contributor to our team, you'll design AI-powered educational platforms with the capacity to reshape how learning happens. You'll deploy LLMs as subject-matter experts to construct contextual knowledge frameworks and intelligent tutoring systems, ensuring our AI outputs are both substantive and transformative. If the prospect of using AI to redefine education excites you, and you're prepared to own projects that challenge the limits of current technology, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Developing Self-Improving AI Content Generation Systems – Creating agent-based workflows that produce educational content and continuously enhance themselves through evaluation loops and systematic experimentation.
  • Constructing Evaluation Sets & Experiment Harnesses – Building curated datasets (inputs → expected outputs) and scoring frameworks to assess, benchmark, and refine the quality of AI-generated educational materials.
  • Engineering Context Packs – Designing structured knowledge artifacts that supply domain-specific grounding, enabling systems to produce precise, high-caliber educational content across multiple subjects.

Key responsibilities

  • Help LearnWith.AI distinguish itself in the market by delivering engaging, personalized educational content through AI-powered systems

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Professional experience embedding LLMs into a software product (experience limited to building chatbots or using basic coding assistants does not qualify)
  • Experience deploying a production system in which a self-improving agent directed iteration of the system itself (e.g., designed its own tools, refined its own reward function, etc.)
  • Experience building evaluation or regression sets that drive self-improving systems and establishing measurable success criteria
  • Experience working with modern agent-orchestration tooling (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)
