Lead Instructional Coach   $200,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site locations: Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (we provide relocation support)
  • Annual salary of $200,000, distributed weekly | Full health, dental, and vision benefits from day one

The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to not call it 100%. Not out of indifference — but because you believe they're capable of reaching it, and lowering expectations is the true disservice. If that reasoning resonates, continue reading. If it feels overly strict, this position will likely frustrate you.

Students at Alpha don't passively absorb lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your role ensures three commitments are fulfilled for every child in your cohort: they develop a genuine love for learning, they progress at 2x the standard rate, and they acquire capabilities no traditional curriculum provides. You will also mentor the Guides who uphold these same commitments throughout your campus.

Data informs every choice, and every interaction happens in person. Your time divides between your own student cohort and the Guides under your leadership — with identical expectations for both: quantifiable advancement, without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you don't draft a memo; you observe, discuss, and correct it the same day.

You'll witness reserved students present with confidence to adults. You'll see a child who once "despised school" request to remain after hours. And you'll understand that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their transformation, because maintaining high expectations demonstrates your belief in their potential.

You may be establishing a completely new campus from the ground up, shaping the foundational culture that will characterize the institution. As the campus develops, your emphasis transitions from operational founder to coaching executive, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's approach throughout your territory.

If that resonates with you, submit your application now.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour interactive workshops on life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) with K-8 students, covering subjects such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's established playbook
  • Conducting daily motivational sessions designed to propel 100% of students toward their weekly application goals through age-suitable incentives including school currency systems and leaderboards
  • Developing Guides via observation, precise feedback, and direct coaching to ensure they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy as you demonstrate
  • Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint students requiring intervention, then personally providing that support
  • Directly mentoring your assigned cohort of students, exemplifying the coaching and motivational approaches you require from all Guides

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students advance through adaptive applications; your responsibility is elevating the people who support them.
  • Delivering traditional lectures before a classroom. You're 80% performer, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn't suitable.
  • Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or school leadership. If a student achieves 99%, the response remains "not yet" — and you'll receive institutional support to maintain that boundary.
  • Spending your day in an office managing administrative tasks. The majority of your time involves direct engagement with students and Guides.
  • Waiting extended periods for performance evaluations. Outcomes are visible in real-time through Coachbot, and adjustments occur immediately.

Key responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides you develop: every student loves school, progresses at 2x standard velocity, and cultivates genuine life competencies.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable field
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
  • Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-related termination decisions
