Learning Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Do you have the skill to analyze the layers of meaning in a Shakespearean sonnet or deconstruct a word's phonetic architecture with precision? Picture applying that language and literature mastery alongside advanced AI to transform how millions of students learn English and literary studies. At 2 Hour Learning, we're not merely designing the next chapter of English education—we're building it into a responsive, immersive learning journey.

We're looking for a forward-thinking expert to drive our work in reshaping English and Language Arts education through sophisticated data analysis, breakthrough AI tools, and profound subject knowledge. Your objective? To accelerate student comprehension of language concepts and literary analysis by a factor of two, spanning everything from foundational phonics to sophisticated literary critique.

At 2 Hour Learning, we're redefining K-12 education with measurable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning platform is changing the way students engage with content, allowing them to achieve mastery at double the pace of conventional schooling. We're not adjusting the existing framework; we're constructing a new one entirely, supported by evidence that validates its effectiveness. Students on our platform routinely earn 4s and 5s on five or more AP exams, show growth exceeding two years on annual MAP assessments, and surpass their own beliefs about their capabilities.

What you will be doing

  • Identifying trends in student reading and writing performance through AI analysis, converting these discoveries into innovative approaches that transform English language teaching and literary interpretation.
  • Developing AI-driven solutions that respond to diverse learning preferences, making grammar comprehension natural, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis attainable for learners across all proficiency levels.
  • Creating flexible learning sequences that adjust dynamically, leading students from phonics through the interpretation of sophisticated texts, ensuring every learner advances at the most effective rate.
  • Working alongside a multidisciplinary group of educators, language specialists, and AI practitioners to expand the possibilities of language education, shaping the educational experience of thousands of students directly.
  • Converting classic and modern literature into interactive, AI-enriched learning moments that educate students while sparking their enthusiasm for reading and writing.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing conventional English syllabi or performing administrative duties—this position centers on innovation and strategic advancement in the teaching and learning of language arts within our accelerated framework.
  • Operating independently—you'll join our collaborative team advancing the cutting edge of AI applications in English education.
  • Concentrating exclusively on abstract concepts—each AI solution you create will have direct influence on how students comprehend and use language competencies in practical contexts, all within the 2 Hour Learning environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead quantifiable enhancements in student English and Language Arts performance through AI-supported analysis and execution, evidenced by a doubling of the rate of skill acquisition across multiple areas (reading, writing, grammar, literature analysis) and grade levels, all within our transformative 2 Hour Learning model.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience teaching English/Language Arts or developing ELA curriculum, with demonstrable impact on learning outcomes
  • Basic coding abilities in any programming language
  • Experience designing, implementing, or using AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning using the LLM APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights from it
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex English/Language Arts concepts to diverse stakeholders in a professional setting
