Learning Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Do you possess the ability to parse the intricate layers of a Shakespearean sonnet or deconstruct a word's phonetic architecture with precision? Picture applying that depth of linguistic and literary knowledge alongside advanced AI to revolutionize language and literature instruction for millions of learners. At 2 Hour Learning, we're not simply shaping the future of English education—we're engineering it into an adaptive, immersive learning environment.

We are looking for a forward-thinking professional to spearhead our efforts in reimagining English and Language Arts instruction through sophisticated data analysis, pioneering AI integration, and comprehensive subject expertise. Your objective? To accelerate students' comprehension of language fundamentals and literary interpretation by a factor of two—spanning from foundational phonics through advanced critical analysis.

2 Hour Learning is fundamentally transforming K-12 education with measurable, undeniable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning platform is reshaping student achievement, allowing learners to acquire mastery at double the pace of conventional education. We aren't adjusting the existing framework; we're constructing an entirely new one, backed by compelling evidence. Platform users routinely earn scores of 4 and 5 on five or more AP examinations, exhibit growth exceeding two years on annual MAP assessments, and surpass their own perceived limits of achievement.

If you are prepared to deploy comprehensive ELA knowledge within an AI-driven system already delivering validated results, we invite your application.

What you will be doing

  • Examine student performance data across reading and writing—including Reel engagement metrics, MAP scores, and assessment outcomes—leveraging AI workflows and LLM orchestrations to pinpoint learning deficits and engineer precise interventions. (Approximately 40% of your time allocation.)
  • Building AI-driven instructional tools that respond to diverse learning preferences, rendering grammar comprehensible, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis reachable for learners across all proficiency levels.
  • Creating adaptive learning sequences that adjust dynamically, steering students from phonics fundamentals through complex textual interpretation, ensuring every individual advances at their ideal rate.
  • Collaborate with curriculum experts, assessment professionals, and AI development teams to ensure content alignment with educational standards and validate the precision of AI-produced materials.
  • Reimagining both classic and modern literature as interactive, AI-augmented learning experiences that educate and simultaneously cultivate students' enthusiasm for reading and writing.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing conventional English curricula or performing administrative duties—this position centers on innovation and strategic enhancement of language arts instruction and learning within our accelerated framework.
  • Manually evaluating piles of student essays — AI manages assessment scale so you concentrate on refining the instructional system, not scoring assignments.
  • Teaching toward standardized test preparation — students in our program already exceed AP performance standards, allowing you to invest effort in enriching mastery rather than rehearsing for compliance.

Key responsibilities

Drive accelerated student mastery in English and Language Arts across all grade spans, achieving 2x the learning velocity of conventional teaching methods.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience teaching English/Language Arts or developing ELA curriculum, with demonstrable impact on learning outcomes
  • Formal coursework in learning sciences, or 2+ years applying learning science principles in educational product or content development.
  • Basic coding abilities in any programming language
  • Experience designing, implementing, or using AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning using the LLM APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights from it
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex English/Language Arts concepts to diverse stakeholders in a professional setting
