Learning Experience Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Do you possess the ability to identify subtle distinctions in a Shakespearean sonnet while also deconstructing a word's phonetic structure with precision? Picture applying that linguistic and literary knowledge alongside advanced AI to revolutionize how millions of students achieve mastery in language and literature. At 2 Hour Learning, we're not simply writing the next chapter of English education—we're designing it as an immersive, adaptive learning journey.

We're looking for a forward-thinking professional to spearhead our initiative in transforming English and Language Arts education through sophisticated data analysis, groundbreaking AI implementation, and profound subject expertise. Your objective? To double the rate at which students acquire language concepts and literary analysis skills, spanning from foundational phonics to advanced literary criticism.

At 2 Hour Learning, we're reshaping K-12 education with measurable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning ecosystem is changing how students learn, allowing them to master content at twice the pace of conventional schooling. We're not adjusting the existing system; we're reconstructing it entirely, and we possess the data that validates its effectiveness. Students on our platform regularly earn 4s and 5s on five or more AP exams, show more than two years' growth on annual MAP assessments, and exceed their own expectations of what they can accomplish.

If you're prepared to apply deep ELA expertise within an AI system that's already delivering proven results, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Examine student reading and writing performance data — including Reel engagement, MAP scores, and assessment outcomes — utilizing AI workflows and LLM orchestrations to pinpoint learning gaps and develop targeted interventions. (Approximately 40% of your time will be dedicated to this.)
  • Building AI-driven tools that respond to individual learning preferences, making grammar intuitive, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis approachable for students across all proficiency levels.
  • Creating dynamic learning sequences that adjust in real-time, leading students from phonics through parsing sophisticated texts, ensuring every learner advances at an ideal pace.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, assessment specialists, and AI engineers to ensure content alignment with curriculum standards and verify the accuracy of AI-generated materials.
  • Converting classic and contemporary literature into interactive, AI-enhanced learning experiences that not only instruct students but also spark their enthusiasm for reading and writing.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing traditional English curriculums or performing administrative duties—this position focuses on innovation and strategic advancement in how language arts are delivered and learned within our accelerated framework.
  • Manually grading large volumes of essays — AI manages the assessment workload so you can concentrate on system enhancement, not paper marking.
  • Teaching toward standardized tests — students at 2 Hour Learning already exceed AP benchmarks, allowing your efforts to focus on enriching mastery, not test preparation compliance.

Key responsibilities

Accelerate student mastery of English and Language Arts across all grade levels, targeting 2x the learning speed of traditional instruction.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience teaching English/Language Arts or developing ELA curriculum, with demonstrable impact on learning outcomes
  • Formal coursework in learning sciences, or 2+ years applying learning science principles in educational product or content development.
  • Basic coding abilities in any programming language
  • Experience designing, implementing, or using AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning using the LLM APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights from it
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex English/Language Arts concepts to diverse stakeholders in a professional setting
