Curriculum Developer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

At 2 Hour Learning, we are redefining how students engage with history and geography. Our mission is to transform social studies education by leveraging AI technology to make the past and the world around us more accessible and compelling.

We are seeking a skilled curriculum developer to lead the evolution of how students understand historical and geographical concepts. If you have the expertise to integrate AI-driven tools into learning experiences that make ancient civilizations and global landscapes come alive, this role offers a unique chance to reshape social studies for the next generation.

What you will be doing

  • Leveraging AI to create interactive simulations that render historical events and geographical phenomena engaging and memorable for learners.
  • Examining learning data to identify trends that shape adaptive learning pathways, tailoring each student's experience for maximum engagement and effectiveness.
  • Building innovative digital resources that animate historical figures and global environments, including virtual time-travel experiences and immersive cultural studies.
  • Partnering with a cross-functional team of educators and technologists to develop novel methods that transform the teaching and learning of social studies.
  • Converting intricate historical and geographic material into accessible, compelling content augmented by AI-powered personalization.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing conventional curricula or getting mired in administrative tasks—this position focuses on innovation and tangible educational impact.
  • Working in isolation—you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals focused on advancing the field.
  • Relying on traditional textbook approaches—your contributions will redefine student engagement with history and geography.

Key responsibilities

Achieve measurable gains in students' command of social studies content, doubling the rate at which they absorb essential historical and geographic knowledge through innovative, AI-enhanced instructional design.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Geography, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching or developing social studies curricula, with demonstrable results in improving student outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with AI applications in education, such as content creation, adaptive learning, or data analysis using the LLM APIs.
  • Outstanding communication skills to translate complex social studies topics into engaging narratives.
