Instructional Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Consider what it takes to transform how students encounter history and geography—making the past vivid and the world comprehensible in ways that spark genuine engagement. At 2 Hour Learning, we are redefining educational practice by building systems that fundamentally change how learners connect with social studies content.

We are seeking a skilled professional to redesign the delivery of history and geography instruction through advanced AI methodologies. If you can accelerate comprehension and render ancient societies or planetary landscapes as compelling as contemporary exploration, you have the chance to reshape social studies education and deepen students' relationships with historical and cultural knowledge.

What you will be doing

  • Applying AI technology to build interactive simulations that render historical episodes and geographic concepts concrete and lasting for learners.
  • Examining learning data to identify trends that will guide adaptive learning sequences, ensuring each student's path remains both engaging and productive.
  • Creating advanced digital materials that animate historical personalities and global regions, spanning virtual time travel to immersive cross-cultural experiences.
  • Working with a cross-functional team of educators and technologists to develop innovative methods that transform social studies instruction and student experience.
  • Converting intricate historical and geographic ideas into accessible, compelling content enriched by AI-powered personalization.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing conventional curricula or getting mired in administrative tasks—this position centers on innovation and tangible educational outcomes.
  • Working in isolation—you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals focused on advancing the field.
  • Relying on traditional textbook approaches—your contributions will redefine how students engage with history and geography.

Key responsibilities

Achieve quantifiable gains in students' command of social studies material, doubling the rate at which they absorb essential historical and geographic concepts through pioneering AI-enhanced instructional methods.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Geography, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching or developing social studies curricula, with demonstrable results in improving student outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with AI applications in education, such as content creation, adaptive learning, or data analysis using the LLM APIs.
  • Outstanding communication skills to translate complex social studies topics into engaging narratives.
