Youth Education Manager   $200,000 USD/year

Description

  • In-person: Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Chicago, IL; Bethesda, MD; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available)
  • $200,000/year, paid weekly | Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one

The most meaningful support you can give a student who achieves 99% is to refuse to round it up to 100%. Not because you lack empathy — because you know they're capable of reaching it, and accepting less is the true disservice. If that principle resonates, continue reading. If it feels too rigid, this position will likely frustrate you.

Students at Alpha don't passively absorb lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your responsibility is to ensure three core commitments are fulfilled for every child in your cohort: they develop a genuine love for learning, they progress at 2x the standard rate, and they acquire capabilities that extend beyond traditional academics. You'll also mentor the Guides who uphold these same commitments throughout your campus.

Each morning begins with data review. Coachbot analytics reveal which students are progressing smoothly and which require intervention. By late morning you're facilitating a live life skills workshop with your K-8 cohort, executing Alpha's established framework. Post-lunch you're observing a Guide's session, then providing them with three concrete action steps to refine their approach. On certain days you're conducting motivation huddles, converting leaderboard rankings and school currency into momentum that re-engages reluctant learners.

You'll witness reserved children present with poise before adults. You'll observe a student who once "despised school" request extra time. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their growth, because maintaining high expectations demonstrates your confidence in their potential.

If you've exceeded benchmarks, transformed underperformers into achievers, and you're prepared to do it for young learners, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour live life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and concentration, using Alpha's structured curriculum framework
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to drive 100% student achievement of weekly app-based goals through age-appropriate incentive systems including school currency and leaderboards
  • Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and practical coaching so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy
  • Analyzing Coachbot analytics and student data to pinpoint individuals requiring support, then delivering personal intervention
  • Directly mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you expect all Guides to employ

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive apps; your focus is elevating the people who support them.
  • Delivering traditional lectures to a classroom. You're 80% motivator, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn't suited for you.
  • Accepting "close enough" from a student. 100% mastery remains the standard, and compromising it doesn't serve them.
  • Spending time in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
  • Waiting extended periods for performance data. Results appear in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.

Key responsibilities

Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides under your leadership: every child develops enthusiasm for school, learns at double the standard pace, and cultivates genuine life competencies.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently located in or willing to relocate to Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Chicago, IL; Bethesda, MD; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred; traditional teaching certifications are not required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related area
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
  • Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based termination decisions
  • Experience providing coaching, mentorship, or constructive feedback to enhance engagement and outcomes
  • Professional experience working with children ages 5–14 in educational or developmental environments
  • Strong capability in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and drive ongoing improvement
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable goals
  • History of coaching adults in positions where performance was systematically measured and evaluated
  • Natural ability to engage large groups of children. The presence that commands attention in a room full of 8-year-olds.
