Learning Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Onsite in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance available
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one

What if intentional play could drive quantifiable progress across every developmental domain?

Alpha's PreK program operates outside the traditional education framework. We combine play-centered curriculum architecture with live developmental tracking — no scripted lessons, no checkbox compliance. In this role, you will architect adaptive learning experiences spanning all readiness areas, guide a team of classroom Guides to execute them with both rigor and warmth, and monitor measurable milestone attainment for each child.

This is an active leadership position. Approximately one-third of your time will be classroom-based — demonstrating facilitation approaches, observing practice, and leading calibration debriefs. The remainder involves curriculum development, coaching Guides toward concrete performance targets, and keeping families updated with data-informed communications. You will witness tangible results: four-year-olds reaching developmental markers ahead of schedule, Guides raising their quality metrics weekly, and families becoming vocal supporters.

Guide the Guides. Architect the learning. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct individual and small-group coaching for PreK Guides, demonstrating effective methods and recognizing measurable progress
  • Create and lead play-centered learning experiences that integrate SEL, literacy, numeracy, and motor development, setting the standard for team execution
  • Evaluate and align Guide documentation on a weekly basis for rubric consistency and clarity, facilitating calibration meetings to maintain milestone tracking transparency
  • Develop family communications and facilitate team alignment sessions that synchronize efforts and reinforce collective commitments to campus PreK readiness targets

What you will NOT be doing

  • Adhering to fixed lesson plans or compliance-focused protocols — you will create flexible, play-driven themes informed by live developmental data
  • Implementing a predetermined curriculum dictated externally — you control quarterly and weekly instructional planning
  • Operating independently without structured feedback — coaching dialogues and calibration reviews are embedded weekly
  • Supporting K-12 learners using app-based platforms — this position focuses entirely on early childhood, immersive, classroom-based practice

Key responsibilities

Lead campus-wide PreK readiness results by coaching Guides, maintaining program integrity, and cultivating joyful, evidence-informed classrooms.

  • Demonstrated capacity to design and execute play-based educational frameworks or curricula that support developmental milestone achievement, e.g. Montessori
  • Minimum 1 year of experience coaching or supervising an educator team with clear performance expectations
  • Background in composing written progress reports for families and facilitating team coordination meetings within educational environments
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to onsite work at Alpha's Austin campus, with relocation assistance provided as necessary

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of edtech systems, adaptive assessment dashboards, or digital observation platforms used in early childhood contexts
  • Background in behavior support methods and co-regulation practices for children ages 3-5
