Description

If you're a leader who thrives on autonomy and craves a mission, this is your opportunity. Step into a role where your decisions directly impact the safety and well-being of students across a pioneering school network.

Join us in revolutionizing education where students engage in two hours of focused academics and spend the rest developing real-world skills. Your mission? To ensure their safety, innovatively and unobtrusively, across all our campuses.

As our chief security strategist, you will shape and oversee security operations for over 25 campuses nationwide. You'll assess current systems, identify gaps, and create robust solutions, including crisis response strategies, vendor management, and audit processes.

This is not your typical security role. You won't be bogged down by routine drills or excessive paperwork. Instead, you'll redefine school safety, blending threat prevention with trauma-sensitive systems that respect the student experience.

Whether you're a corporate security expert seeking less bureaucracy or a military leader transitioning to the private sector, this role offers you unparalleled ownership and impact.

What you will be doing

  • Orchestrating the comprehensive design and execution of physical security measures across our expanding national school network.
  • Performing thorough site evaluations, pinpointing risks, and implementing strategic improvements in infrastructure, personnel, and systems.
  • Overseeing vendor relationships and technology, such as surveillance and access systems, to maintain optimal performance.
  • Taking charge during security incidents by leading the response, managing communication, and conducting after-action reviews.
  • Developing and conducting training on effective, trauma-informed protocols that integrate with local emergency services.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Implementing obtrusive security measures that hinder the educational atmosphere—your solutions will be intelligent, subtle, and efficient.
  • Tolerating underperforming vendors—you'll elevate expectations and replace inadequacies.
  • Participating in endless meetings without concrete outcomes—your initiatives will drive tangible operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

Craft and maintain security systems that protect over 25 campuses and thousands of students from external dangers, all while preserving an enriching learning environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years leading physical security for multiple locations in demanding environments.
  • Proven track record in creating, implementing, and upholding security protocols from the ground up.
  • Experienced in crisis management, adept at coordinating real-time responses involving various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of handling high-pressure discussions with senior leaders, vendors, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently with high standards and minimal oversight.
  • U.S.-based with the ability to travel to different campuses.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in school safety or related educational fields.
  • Degree in criminal justice, public safety, emergency management, or similar disciplines.
