Deployment Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Take possession of an empty building. Turn it into a fully operational school. Hand it to operations and move to the next city. This is high-cadence deployment work, campus after campus. If that pace fits how you operate, continue reading.

2 Hour Learning operates schools where students complete their core academics in two hours, then dedicate the remainder of the day to life skills, entrepreneurship, and opportunities traditional schooling doesn't accommodate. The results speak for themselves: students performing in the top 1-2% nationally, progressing at double the standard rate. None of this functions without a ready campus. Your role is to deliver exactly that: fully operational school sites, on schedule and within budget, across an expanding network of micro schools, growth campuses, and flagship vertical campuses in major metropolitan areas.

Timelines are always tight. You'll go from building turnover to first day of school in weeks, not months. This requires sequencing vendor activities, monitoring dependencies each day, and leveraging AI to address every outstanding issue before it causes a setback. After a campus launches, you hand the site to the ongoing operations team and proceed to the next deployment.

You'll begin with micro-campus buildouts — the highest-velocity, most standardized projects in the portfolio. As the network grows to include growth and flagship campuses, the scope and complexity of your assignments will expand accordingly.

When a school opens on schedule and students arrive on Day 1, your contribution goes unnoticed. That's success. Apply today via our assessment process: a cognitive evaluation and a practical work sample.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete buildout for each assigned campus: coordinating FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) procurement and installation, interior construction, IT infrastructure, signage, and playspace from building turnover to opening day
  • Executing a compressed delivery timeline against a fixed opening date: sequencing vendor work streams, managing interdependencies, and compressing schedules wherever necessary
  • Coordinating and inspecting vendor deliverables: issuing scopes of work, supervising on-site execution, verifying compliance with specifications, and formally rejecting substandard work
  • Applying AI tools to draft vendor scopes, create punch lists, monitor open items, and produce handoff documentation — the pace of this role requires it
  • Implementing standardized deployment playbooks, confirming site readiness upon completion, capturing structured feedback, and organizing the transition to the ongoing operations team

What you will NOT be doing

  • Running ongoing facility operations once a campus is open: you transition to the permanent ops team and advance to the next deployment
  • Executing hands-on trades or installation tasks: your responsibility is to direct, inspect, and approve — not to perform physical labor or technical installation
  • Handling real estate acquisition, permitting, or certificate of occupancy processes: those steps are complete before the building is assigned to you
  • Operating on a single project at a leisurely pace: micro-campus buildouts are rapid, and the next one is always queued
  • Navigating unclear ownership or distributed accountability: every buildout has one accountable individual from turnover to opening

Key responsibilities

Deliver fully operational campuses on schedule and within budget, from building turnover through opening day.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in operations, facilities, or project delivery
  • Proven experience identifying and correcting a failing process, with quantifiable outcomes: documented cost savings, timeline reduction, or quality enhancement
  • Track record of owning a multi-phase project from start to finish, including documented completion
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors: enforce quality standards and reject work that fails to meet requirements
  • Experience managing 2 or more concurrent projects or sites without oversight gaps
  • Routine use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) to increase efficiency and maintain organization
  • Located in the US and authorized to work without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to travel 60–80% of the time (3–4 days per week)

Nice to have

  • Previous involvement in a physical buildout or site activation across any sector: retail, restaurants, healthcare, offices, or comparable
  • Experience in construction project management, tenant improvement, commercial fit-out, or facilities management
  • Any direct exposure to FF&E, IT deployment, signage, or commercial interior work, including in a coordinator or assistant capacity
  • Familiarity with a project tracking platform (Wrike, Notion, Procore, Asana, Monday.com, or similar) for task or timeline management

About Crossover

What you will learn

  • How to execute complex buildouts under compressed timelines: every campus launch represents a delivery cycle most project managers spend years accumulating in other settings
  • How to advance in project complexity — micro-campus buildouts are your starting point; perform well, and your next assignment involves more systems, more vendors, greater complexity, and additional cities
  • How to construct operational AI workflows integrated into daily project work: not an occasional tool, but the foundation for drafting scopes, tracking punch lists, and documenting handoffs
  • A validated site deployment methodology you will execute and refine — your structured field observations directly inform how future campuses are built across the network
