Engineers often speak of building meaningful systems. Here's your opportunity to demonstrate it: continuous delivery, rigorous assessment, and operational AI systems that directly influence U.S. government functions. No résumé posturing. No abstract hypotheticals. Only production work each week, under real pressure.
Gauntlet for America is a fully funded, competitive 10-week fellowship built to develop AI-native engineering talent for United States federal agencies. It serves as a high-intensity validation environment for seasoned engineers ready to prove they can construct and maintain production-quality AI systems where dependability, security, and tangible impact are non-negotiable.
Fellows deliver weekly, undergo continuous evaluation, and train with other elite engineers. Those who complete the program successfully transition into federal GS-12 engineering positions (~$150K + comprehensive federal benefits), working on infrastructure that directly affects government operations.
The fellowship spans 10 weeks: 3 weeks conducted remotely, then 7 weeks in-person in Austin, Texas. Participants should anticipate a demanding schedule (80–100 hours/week) engineered to accelerate learning velocity, signal clarity, and professional trajectory.
Program Outcomes:
- 10+ deployable AI systems delivered throughout the fellowship
- Immediate placement into federal engineering positions (GS-12 level, ~$160K–$200K+ based on qualifications + full benefits)
- Contribution to high-impact infrastructure shaping how the U.S. government designs and deploys technology
- Membership in a network of AI-native engineers working at the leading edge of public sector technology
