Outdoor Operations Coordinator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This position is full-time and in-person at our Austin campus.

If you instinctively design systems when you encounter disorder, this role will suit you. Alpha serves students who accelerate quickly, seek rigor, and are ready for genuine accountability. We combine demanding academics with practical life training and a focused 2-Hour Learning framework, enabling students to advance with speed and confidence. We're looking for someone who can transform a dynamic school environment into a seamless, high-functioning operation—every transition, every interaction, every element executed flawlessly.

At our Austin location, you will be the operational backbone: protecting focused learning time, maintaining safe and efficient daily systems, and removing friction so Guides can deliver mentorship at peak effectiveness. You'll manage facility workflows, provide frontline technical assistance, and handle community coordination, building a culture where ambition is the baseline and self-reliance is deliberately cultivated. If you thrive on clear expectations, rapid decision-making, and measurable impact, this work is for you.

Apply to build a campus where students accelerate their learning, families experience the distinction, and operational precision is the foundation of everything we do.

What you will be doing

  • Executing the daily schedule with accuracy to ensure 2-Hour Learning blocks begin punctually, remain distraction-free, and conclude effectively.
  • Providing initial technical support (equipment configuration, routine troubleshooting) and managing IT escalation pathways.
  • Upholding a secure, well-ordered campus through drills, incident documentation, vendor coordination, and facility preparedness.
  • Delivering clear communication to students, families, and colleagues; resolving issues swiftly and recording key decisions.
  • Enabling campus events—orientation, programming, inventory and space logistics—so the site consistently operates with readiness.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or developing coursework; Guides own student mentorship while you operate the infrastructure.
  • Working remotely from an administrative space; your role is campus-facing and directly influences student outcomes and family confidence.
  • Investing time in low-value tasks that do not enhance pace, security, or learning effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

Maintain a campus environment that is consistently safe, prepared, and conducive to focus, allowing students and staff to prioritize learning and development over operational concerns.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (any discipline)
  • 2+ years managing complex operations in education, event coordination, hospitality, or a comparable service-intensive setting.
  • Composed under pressure; proactive in resolving challenges while managing competing demands with precision.
  • Proficient in foundational IT support and Google Workspace management.
  • Strong, professional written and spoken communication that builds trust.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; able to work on-site in Austin, TX (visa sponsorship unavailable).
